About the Role

JOB OVERVIEW
Wanted: The Voice — American Accent Voice Actor for a Documentary-Style YouTube Channel

Rate: TBD
Volume: 4 videos per week
Type: Ongoing, long-term. Not a one-off gig.

About the channel

Forgotten Beasts is a faceless documentary channel about extinct animals, lost species, and creatures people swear are still out there. Audience is mostly US, UK and Australia, ages 34–55. Think mystery-thriller documentary energy — not a flat listicle voiceover.

I write every script myself. Your job is to make it come alive with your voice: pacing, tension, and delivery that hooks people and doesn't let go.

What I actually need from you

The edit can be perfect, but if the voice is boring, nobody stays. I need a voice actor who gets that delivery is what turns a script into a story.

Here is the standard:

American accent, clean and broadcast-ready. No regional twang, no vocal fry, no upspeak. Sound like the voice people trust in the dark.

Documentary-thriller tone. Steady and authoritative when explaining, hushed and tense when building suspense, sharp and punchy on the reveal. Range matters.

Master of pacing. Know when to slow down, when to hold a pause, when silence does more work than words. Rushing kills the moment.

Studio-clean audio. Quiet, treated space. No hiss, no echo, no background noise sneaking in.

Consistent voice, every time. Same setup, same tone, video after video, so listeners recognize the channel the second you start talking.

Follows direction. Comfortable working from scripts with emotion notes and delivery cues already marked, and open to feedback to dial in the sound.

What I provide

Full script with timestamps, emotion notes and delivery cues already marked
Direction and feedback to lock in the right tone early
Pay

TBD — to be confirmed once we've reviewed applicants and run a paid test.

To apply

Don't send a generic voice reel and nothing else. Applications without the following get ignored.

Send 2 examples of documentary or faceless-channel style voice work.
Send a short sample (30–60 seconds) in an American accent, any topic.
Confirm you can deliver 4 videos a week, every week.
Tell me your recording setup (mic, space, software) and turnaround time for a 12-minute script.

Shortlisted applicants get a paid test: one 45-second segment from a real script. Nail it, and you start that week.
