About the Role

Furniture Drafter & 3D Visualiser — Remote (Philippines)

Full-time or part-time · Long-term · Work with an Australian furniture and interiors business

---

The role

We design furniture and interior products, and have them manufactured by factories in Vietnam and China. We need someone to turn concepts and reference photos into drawings those factories can quote from and build to — and to produce the 3D visuals we use to sell the finished pieces.

This is furniture and product work, not building design. If you enjoy detailing a chair more than detailing a slab, you'll like this.

What you'll actually do

  • Furniture shop drawings — dimensioned orthographic views, sections, exploded assemblies, cut lists
  • Convert sketches, reference images and physical samples into production-ready drawing packages
  • Prepare DXF and DWG files to send to offshore manufacturers
  • Review factory drawings and sample photos against our specs, and mark up revisions
  • 3D models and rendered visuals of products in styled interiors, for client presentations and web use
  • Maintain a tidy, well-named drawing library and revision history

What we're looking for

  • Solid AutoCAD skills — this is the core of the job
  • 3D modelling and rendering in SketchUp plus Enscape, D5, Twinmotion or Lumion
  • Experience producing manufacturing drawings, not just architectural drawings
  • Ability to work from photographs and rough sketches and ask the right questions about what's missing
  • Clear written English and a habit of confirming details rather than assuming
  • Photoshop and Google Workspace for presentation and file handling

Nice to have: Revit; experience working with Asian furniture factories; joinery or cabinetmaking knowledge; a licensed or registered architecture or industrial design qualification.

Hours and arrangement

Philippine Standard Time, with a two-hour overlap with Australian Eastern Time so we can talk through revisions live. Full-time or part-time — tell us which you want.

This is a long-term role. We're not looking to fill a one-off project.

Rate

PLEASE ADVISE YOUR RATE

We pay above market for people who need less supervision, and we review after three months.

How to apply

Send an email to ---------- with the subject line "CAD DRAWINGS". Applications without that subject line won't be read.

Include:

1. Your portfolio — we want to see furniture or product drawings, not house plans. One drawing package showing plan, elevation and section of a single piece is worth more than fifty renders.
2. One paragraph on a piece you drew that was actually manufactured, and what went wrong between the drawing and the sample.
3. Your available hours in Philippine time, and how much overlap with AEST you can offer.
4. Your rate, monthly or hourly.

Shortlisted applicants will be paid for a small trial drawing before we make an offer. We don't ask for free work.
