About the Role

REMOTE VIDEO & AUDIO PODCAST EDITOR
Freelance | Philippines-Based | Four Episodes per Month

We are a Singapore-based medical and wellness brand seeking an experienced video and audio editor for an ongoing interview podcast.

Each podcast episode consists of approximately 60–90 minutes of conversation, usually involving two or three speakers. Recordings may include footage from multiple cameras and separate audio tracks.

We expect to produce four podcast episodes per month.

The finished content should feel polished, intelligent, modern and premium. We prefer clean, restrained editing rather than excessive animations, distracting effects or gimmicky social-media styling.

DELIVERABLES FOR EACH PODCAST EPISODE

  • One professionally edited 60–90-minute YouTube episode
  • Synchronisation of multicamera footage and separate audio tracks
  • Natural camera changes based on the person speaking and the flow of the conversation
  • One mastered audio-only podcast file
  • Five to six vertical YouTube Shorts selected from the strongest moments in the episode
  • Accurate, professionally formatted captions for every Short
  • Clean branded opening, closing and speaker-name graphics
  • Balanced dialogue volume, noise reduction, EQ and audio mastering
  • Natural, flattering and consistent colour correction
  • Removal of mistakes, long pauses, technical interruptions and unnecessary repetition
  • Three high-resolution stills suitable for use in episode thumbnails
  • Correctly named and organised final files
  • Complete editable project and source files upon request

The five to six Shorts should not simply be random extracts. The editor must identify compelling, useful or surprising moments that can stand alone and encourage viewers to watch the full conversation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Long-Form Podcast Editing

  • Synchronise footage from multiple cameras and audio sources
  • Select appropriate camera angles for conversations involving two or three speakers
  • Maintain natural pacing while removing obvious errors and unnecessary pauses
  • Remove excessive filler words where this can be done without making the conversation sound unnatural
  • Preserve the intelligence and substance of the discussion
  • Use close-ups, wide shots and reaction shots appropriately
  • Apply the established podcast graphics, fonts, colours and visual style
  • Correct audio inconsistencies between different speakers
  • Correct colour and maintain natural, flattering skin tones
  • Check the entire episode before delivery for audio, visual, spelling and export errors

YouTube Shorts

  • Identify five to six strong moments from every episode
  • Edit each selection into an engaging vertical video
  • Create a strong opening hook based on what was genuinely said
  • Use accurate and readable captions
  • Reframe footage correctly for vertical viewing
  • Keep speaker faces and important visual information within the safe viewing area
  • Avoid misleading hooks, exaggerated claims or removing statements from their proper context
  • Export each Short in the correct vertical format for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok

Audio Editing

  • Clean and balance all dialogue tracks
  • Reduce background noise, echo, clicks and other distractions where possible
  • Apply appropriate EQ, compression and loudness levels
  • Ensure that all speakers remain clear and easy to understand
  • Export a properly mastered audio-only version suitable for podcast platforms

MEDICAL AND WELLNESS CONTENT STANDARDS

The podcast discusses medical, aesthetic, health and wellness subjects. Accuracy is essential.

  • Medical terminology in captions and graphics must be spelled correctly
  • Names, professional titles, medications, treatments and scientific terms must not be guessed
  • Any uncertain terminology must be flagged for confirmation
  • Statements must not be edited in a way that changes their original medical meaning
  • Short-form hooks must not exaggerate, sensationalise or misrepresent what the speaker said

AI tools may be used to accelerate transcription, captioning and clip identification, but every output must be reviewed and corrected manually.

TURNAROUND REQUIREMENTS

Prompt and reliable delivery is essential because we intend to publish approximately one full episode every week.

For each episode:

  • Confirm receipt of all files within 12 hours
  • Report missing, damaged or unusable files immediately
  • Deliver the first full-length edit within four working days
  • Deliver the five to six Shorts and complete content package within six working days
  • Return reasonable revisions within two working days
  • Complete up to two reasonable revision rounds per episode

Applicants should only apply if they have sufficient weekly capacity to meet these deadlines consistently.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • At least two years of professional video-editing experience
  • Demonstrable experience editing long-form interviews, podcasts or multicamera conversations
  • Experience editing videos involving two or three speakers
  • Strong audio-editing and dialogue-cleaning ability
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Competence with Adobe Audition, Fairlight or equivalent audio software
  • Strong judgement regarding pacing, storytelling and camera selection
  • Ability to identify compelling short-form moments from long interviews
  • Excellent written English and caption accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of natural skin tones and clean, premium visual presentation
  • Reliable high-speed internet capable of transferring large video files
  • Ability to manage approximately four 60–90-minute episodes every month

We are not looking for someone who relies exclusively on automatic AI clipping or unreviewed captioning software. Technology may support the workflow, but the final work must demonstrate human editorial judgement.

COMPENSATION

  • Approximately four episodes per month
  • Expected monthly compensation: US$700–$800
  • Up to two reasonable revision rounds included
  • Long-term opportunity for the right editor
  • Compensation will be reviewed if the workload or number of required deliverables increases materially

PAID EDITING TEST

Shortlisted applicants will be offered a paid editing test using supplied footage.

The test will involve:

  • Editing a short multicamera interview segment
  • Cleaning and balancing the audio
  • Applying basic colour correction
  • Producing one vertical YouTube Short with captions
