Structural Design Engineer – Steel & Temporary Structures

We are looking for a technically capable and motivated Structural Design Engineer to join an international engineering team working across construction, industrial and major event projects.

You will help design structural steelwork and specialist temporary structures, including stages, platforms, temporary roofs, towers, access structures and bespoke engineered systems.

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing structural calculations, analytical models, BIM models and drawings
• Designing steel members, frames, trusses, connections, base plates and support structures
• Developing coordinated designs using Tekla Structures, Revit or similar software
• Reviewing loads, site constraints, erection methods and project requirements
• Working with engineers, fabricators, contractors and project teams
• Updating designs in response to technical queries or changing site conditions

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, load paths, stability and steel design
• Experience using Tekla Structures, Revit or another BIM/3D modelling platform
• Experience with Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000 or similar
• Exposure to IDEA StatiCa or other connection-design software is advantageous
• Good written and spoken English
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

You do not need to be the most experienced engineer in the market. We are open to a strong early-career candidate who understands structural engineering fundamentals, is adaptable and is keen to develop within a specialist engineering team.
Experience with temporary works, event structures, scaffolding or steel fabrication is helpful, but not essential.
