THE WORK
A history documentary channel about England in the early 1800s. The videos are made to feel like an old book: warm colours, old paper, period paintings and engravings. Nothing moves fast and nothing is shiny.

We send you the script, the narration, the music, you research images/b-rolls/etc, and we also provide a style guide with the colors, the fonts, the text box sizes and the export settings. You build the video from there: choose and place the pictures, build the text plates, set the movement and the music levels, and check your own work before you send it.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER
We work with you, not just at the end of the job. We are on Slack every day, we answer questions fast, and we send more material whenever you need it. First versions get real notes, and we talk them through.

What we cannot do is direct you cut by cut or be your quality checker. We want an editor who reads the guide, understands the style, double-checks its own work before sending to the client and delivers a good first version on their own (we work together from there, we understand there is a learning curve).

AI usage
Real images before generated ones. We do use generated images, but only to fill what cannot be found, and they have to match the period so a viewer does not see the difference.

HOW WE HIRE
Phase 1. We read your application and your portfolio. Send a link to one long-form video you edited yourself (bonus if it's faceless doc-style videos).

Phase 2. If you are shortlisted, we send you a short piece of script with a reference and ask for a sample of 40-60 seconds. Small test, not paid yet, and you may put your watermark on it (do what you want if you feel like we would use it for something). This is important, because anyone can put files in an YouTube folder or on a Canva site and claim they did it. Plus we want evaluate how detail oriented you are :-)

If the sample is right, you get your first paid video, and steady work after that.
