Account Manager / Print Estimator – UK Printing Company

Full-Time | Remote | Philippines | UK Working Hours

About Us

Swytch Graphics is a UK-based commercial printing and visual communications company specialising in large-format digital print, retail displays, point-of-sale (POS), signage, graphics and fabricated display products.

We work predominantly with businesses, agencies, retailers and display companies, producing everything from printed boards, posters and window graphics through to retail displays, cosmetic fascias, acrylic products, lightboxes and large-format graphics.

Our production facility in Leicester, UK, operates a wide range of modern printing and finishing equipment including flatbed and roll-to-roll UV printers, digital cutting tables, laser cutters and other specialist finishing equipment.

We are continuing to grow and are now looking for an experienced and highly organised Account Manager / Estimator based in the Philippines to become part of our UK customer services and estimating team.

The Role

This is not a cold-calling or sales prospecting position.

Your role will be to help manage existing customers and incoming enquiries, understand what the customer needs, prepare quotations and help progress work from initial enquiry through to production.

You will communicate directly with UK customers by email and, once confident, potentially by telephone or Teams.

A typical enquiry might be:

  • 500 printed retail display panels
  • 2,000 point-of-sale graphics for stores
  • Printed and CNC-cut Foamex boards
  • Acrylic cosmetic display components
  • Window vinyls and self-adhesive graphics
  • Large-format banners and display graphics
  • Printed PETG or polycarbonate components
  • Retail lightboxes or fabric graphics
  • Bespoke printed and fabricated display products

You will need to understand how a product should be manufactured and then use our estimating system to calculate the price.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Respond to incoming customer enquiries
  • Read and understand customer specifications and briefs
  • Review dimensions, quantities, materials and finishing requirements
  • Prepare accurate quotations using our MIS/estimating system
  • D ---------- the most appropriate production method for each job
  • Calculate material requirements and production processes
  • Request additional information from customers when a specification is incomplete
  • Prepare clear and professional quotations
  • Follow up outstanding quotations where appropriate
  • Convert successful quotations into production jobs
  • Work closely with our UK account management and production teams
  • Check artwork and job information is complete before production
  • Help customers identify more economical or practical ways of producing projects
  • Maintain accurate customer and project information
  • Develop strong relationships with regular customers

As your technical knowledge develops, we want you to become capable of managing your own portfolio of customers and enquiries.

Who We Are Looking For

The most important requirement is commercial printing or signage industry experience.

Ideally, you will already have worked for a:

  • Commercial printer
  • Large-format printing company
  • Signage company
  • Display / exhibition company
  • Packaging or POS manufacturer
  • Print estimating company

Previous experience estimating print jobs would be particularly valuable.

You should understand at least some of the following:

  • Large-format digital printing
  • Flatbed printing
  • Roll-to-roll printing
  • Vinyl printing
  • Laminating
  • Mounting
  • CNC cutting

  • Routing
  • Acrylic fabrication
  • Foamex / PVC board
  • Correx / corrugated plastic
  • Dibond / aluminium composite
  • PETG
  • Self-adhesive vinyl
  • Posters and display graphics
  • Retail POS / point-of-sale displays

You do not need to know everything on this list. We have an experienced UK team who can provide training on our equipment, materials, processes and estimating system.

However, previous print industry knowledge will make a significant difference.

Systems

We use PrintIQ as our Management Information System and estimating platform.

Previous PrintIQ experience would be extremely useful but is not essential.

Experience with other print MIS or estimating systems such as Tharstern, Optimus, EFI Pace, PrintSmith, Avanti, Clarity or similar would also be relevant.

You should also be confident using:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Excel
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Web-based business software

Your English Must Be Excellent

You will communicate directly with UK customers, so you must have:

  • Excellent written English
  • Strong spoken English
  • Good grammar and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating professionally with customers
  • The ability to understand sometimes complex written specifications

You must also be comfortable asking questions. We would much rather you ask for clarification than make assumptions when preparing a quotation.

  • Intelligent and quick to learn
  • Technically minded
  • Extremely organised
  • Comfortable working with numbers
  • Accurate and detail-focused
  • Commercially aware

  • Proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • Interested in building a long-term career with our company

This is an important position within our business and we are looking for someone who wants to become a genuine member of our team rather than simply complete outsourced tasks.

Working Hours

This is a full-time remote position working alongside our UK team.

You will therefore need to work predominantly UK business hours.

Our normal UK office hours are approximately:

8:00am – 5:00pm UK time, Monday to Friday

We can discuss the exact working pattern with the successful candidate.

Training

We appreciate that every printing company works differently.

Full training will therefore be provided covering:

  • Our products
  • Materials
  • Printing equipment
  • Finishing processes
  • Production methods
  • PrintIQ
  • Our estimating procedures
  • Our customer base

We expect the successful candidate's technical knowledge and responsibilities to increase considerably over time.

Career Opportunity

We are looking for somebody long term.

Our business is growing and this position has the opportunity to develop into a senior offshore account management / estimating role as we expand the team.

For the right person, we want this to become a career rather than a short-term freelance position.

How to Apply

When applying, please tell us:

1. What experience you have within the printing, signage, POS or display industry
2. Whether you have previously prepared print estimates or quotations
3. Which printing processes and materials you are familiar with
4. Which MIS / estimating systems you have previously used
5. Your current employment situation
6. Your expected monthly salary in PHP
7. Whether you are comfortable working UK business hours

Please also start your application with the words:

We are particularly interested in applicants with genuine print industry experience, so please explain your experience in detail.
