Senior QuickBooks Online Accountant

I run a fractional CFO firm supporting U.S.-based service businesses, and I'm looking for an experienced accountant to help manage and clean up client books in QuickBooks Online.

This is not an entry-level bookkeeping position.

I'm looking for someone who can be handed a set of books, review the P&L and balance sheet, identify what doesn't make sense, investigate the underlying transactions, and make or recommend the appropriate corrections.

What we are looking for

You should have significant experience with:

• Full-cycle accrual accounting
• QuickBooks Online
• Month-end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations beyond bank and credit card accounts
• Payroll entries and payroll liability reconciliations
• Loans, fixed assets, AR, AP and equity accounts
• Cleaning up inaccurate or poorly maintained books
• Reviewing financial statements for unusual or incorrect balances

Experience working with multiple U.S.-based accounting clients is required.** This is not a preference. If your experience is primarily with a single company or with non-U.S. accounting, this position is not a fit.

The right person doesn't just categorize transactions and reconcile bank accounts. You understand why an account balance is right or wrong and know how to investigate when something doesn't make sense.
