MEP Design Engineer – Plumbing (PHE)

This is a plumbing and fire-fighting design role, not a general MEP or HVAC position. You must have at least 4 years of experience designing plumbing and fire-fighting systems and be able to perform the engineering calculations yourself. This is not a CAD or Revit drafting role. You will be responsible for the design, calculations, coordination, and final deliverables.

About This Role
We are looking for an experienced MEP Design Engineer – Plumbing (PHE) to design plumbing and fire-fighting systems for residential and commercial projects.

You will work on systems including water supply, hot water, drainage, stormwater, rainwater harvesting, sewer and venting, sewage ejectors, sprinklers, hydrants, and fire pumps.

You will perform the required hydraulic and sizing calculations, create designs and 3D models, prepare BOQs and material take-offs, and participate in BIM coordination and clash resolution.

What You’ll Do
Design plumbing and fire-fighting systems from concept to detailed design
Design cold water, hot water, and hot water return systems
Design sewer, drainage, and venting systems
Design stormwater and rainwater harvesting systems
Design sewage ejector systems
Design sprinkler, hydrant, and fire pump systems
Perform hydraulic calculations for water supply, drainage, and sprinklers
Perform water demand and tank sizing calculations
Perform pipe sizing calculations
Prepare layouts, schematics, and 3D models
Use AutoCAD 2020, Revit MEP 2020, and BIM 360
Participate in BIM 360 coordination
Identify and resolve clashes with architectural, structural, and electrical teams
Prepare BOQs and material take-offs
Prepare project documentation
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, specifications, and engineering standards

What We’re Looking For
4+ years of experience in plumbing/PHE and fire-fighting design
Experience with residential and commercial projects
Strong plumbing/PHE design experience
Fire-fighting design experience
Experience with hydraulic calculations
Experience with water demand and tank sizing
Experience with pipe sizing
Experience with cold and hot water systems
Experience with sewer, drainage, and venting
Experience with stormwater and rainwater harvesting
Experience with sewage ejector systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2020
Proficiency in Revit MEP 2020
Experience with BIM 360
Experience with BOQs and material take-offs
Experience with MEP coordination and clash resolution
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Important: This is a design engineering role, not a drafting position. You must be able to perform and understand the calculations behind your designs rather than simply create drawings based on another engineer's work.
