About the Role

Automotive Parts Research Specialist – VIN / TecDoc / OEM Cross Reference

We are an automotive parts company looking for a reliable full-time remote team member to help our sales team identify the correct automotive parts quickly and accurately.

Main Responsibilities

  • Find aftermarket alternatives and cross-reference part numbers
  • Work with TecDoc and other automotive parts catalogs
  • Compare part numbers between different suppliers and manufacturers
  • Update product and supplier mappings in our ERP system
  • Prepare information for our sales team so they can quote customers quickly
  • Check unclear or difficult vehicle/part matches
  • Keep records organized and accurate
  • Report when there are multiple possible parts or when you are not 100% sure

Very Important

Accuracy is more important than speed.

We do not want someone who guesses.

If there are two possible parts for a vehicle, you must clearly report that further verification is required.

Experience We Prefer

Experience with any of the following is a big advantage:

  • Parts catalogues
  • Bosch

  • VAG / ETKA
  • BMW ETK
  • Mercedes EPC
  • Toyota / Hyundai / Kia / Japanese or European vehicle catalogues
  • Automotive spare parts e-commerce or wholesale companies

Work Style

This is not a customer service role.

You will mainly work as a back-office automotive parts research specialist supporting our sales team.

You must be:

  • Very detail-oriented
  • Reliable
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Good at researching difficult cases
  • Able to follow procedures
  • Comfortable using Excel / Google Sheets / ERP systems
  • Honest when you are unsure about a part match

Working Hours

Full-time preferred.

Working hours should overlap with Israel business hours for at least part of the day.

Israel time is UTC+2 / UTC+3 depending on daylight saving time.

Salary

Starting salary: USD $650–$800 per month, depending on automotive parts experience and skill level.

Salary can increase after the probation period based on accuracy, productivity, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Application Test

Please do not send a generic application.

In your application, answer these questions:

1. Have you worked with automotive spare parts before? Please explain.
2. Have you used TecDoc? For how long?
3. Which EPC or automotive catalog systems have you used?
4. Are you comfortable finding OE/OEM numbers using a VIN?
5. Which vehicle brands do you know best?
6. Give one example of how you would verify that a part definitely fits a specific vehicle.
7. What is your expected monthly salary?
8. Can you work full-time?
9. What hours can you work in Philippine time?

Please start your application with the words:

We will measure:

  • Accuracy
