About the Role

This is not a one-time freelance project. We have an ongoing portfolio of websites, vacation rentals, businesses, and undeveloped domains that need to be built, improved, optimized, and maintained.
What You'll Do

  • Build and improve websites using Squarespace, Hostinger, WordPress, and other best-of-class no-code/low-code tools
  • Maintain our company and related business websites
  • Build and improve vacation-rental websites, including booking links, maps, forms, email capture, and social profiles
  • Develop unused domains into content-focused websites
  • Build landing pages for future Meta and Google advertising
  • Handle technical and on-page SEO
  • Optimize site structure, metadata, internal linking, page speed, mobile performance, and indexing
  • Manage domains, DNS, redirects, SSL, subdomains, and hosting
  • Maintain GA4, Google Search Console, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and conversion tracking
  • Troubleshoot website and integration problems
  • Provide a short website/SEO performance report once per month

Our team will help create content. This is not a copywriting position.
Who We're Looking For
You should have strong experience with website development, responsive design, SEO, domains/DNS, analytics, and troubleshooting.
You must be able to work independently. We want to give you an objective and have you determine how to accomplish it.
Our philosophy is:
Build it well. Keep it simple. Make it fast and maintainable. Get it launched. Move on to the next priority.
We prefer no-code/low-code solutions and do not want unnecessary custom development.
Good visual judgment is also important. You should be able to create clean, professional websites without needing detailed design instructions.
We encourage the intelligent use of AI tools to work faster and more efficiently.
Hours & Compensation

  • Initially approximately 10–15 hours/week
  • Long-term approximately 5–10 hours/week
  • Maximum regular schedule of 15 hours/week
  • Most work can be completed on your own schedule
  • Must attend one weekly meeting during California business hours
  • $5–$8 USD/hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability
  • 90-day probationary period
  • No formal benefits for this part-time position
  • Intended to be a long-term position for the right person

How to Apply
Please include:

  • Your desired hourly rate in USD and weekly availability.
  • Links to 3 websites you personally built or substantially developed, including what you did and which platform you used.
  • A brief description of your SEO experience and one example of improving organic search performance.
  • Rate yourself 1–10 in: Squarespace, Hostinger, WordPress, technical SEO, Google Search Console, GA4, DNS/domain management, responsive design, and Meta/conversion tracking.
  • Briefly explain how you use AI for website development or SEO.
  • Put BUILD IT SIMPLE in your application subject line.

Finalists may be offered a small paid skills test before hiring.
We're looking for someone who can become our trusted website resource for years—not simply complete one project and disappear.
