ARC Specialist – Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) Reconciliation

Position Summary
The ARC Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) data and related Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) reporting activities. This role reconciles airline ticketing and financial transactions reported through ARC, validates reporting accuracy, investigates discrepancies, and supports timely weekly reporting and settlement. Working closely with Operations, Finance, IT, and other business partners, the specialist helps maintain accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, ensure compliance with ARC requirements, and support the integrity of the company's financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) Reconciliation

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of ARC Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) transactions.
  • Reconcile airline ticket sales, refunds, exchanges, voids, debit memos (ADMs), credit memos (ACMs), and other ARC-reportable transactions against internal systems.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between reservation systems, accounting records, GDS data, and ARC reporting.
  • Validate transaction accuracy prior to weekly ARC sales reporting and settlement.
  • Monitor exception reports and resolve reconciliation variances within established service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain complete documentation supporting reconciliation activities, adjustments, and issue resolution.

ARC Reporting & Dashboard Management

  • Review ARC reporting and dashboard metrics for completeness, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure reporting aligns with source systems and financial records.
  • Identify reporting anomalies, trends, and potential control issues.
  • Support testing, validation, and implementation of reporting or system enhancements.
  • Recommend automation and process improvements that increase reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Analysis & Issue Resolution

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, IT, and Data Analytics to investigate and resolve reporting issues.
  • Develop corrective actions that reduce reporting errors and improve reconciliation processes.
  • Track issues through final resolution and communicate status to stakeholders.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ARC reporting requirements, and internal control standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliation documentation and reporting evidence.
  • Maintain documentation supporting reporting governance and audit readiness.
  • Recommend enhancements that strengthen reconciliation controls and improve reporting accuracy.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare reconciliation summaries, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Present findings, trends, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Communicate reconciliation status, risks, and unresolved issues to business partners.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Two to five years of experience in airline reporting, reconciliation, accounting operations, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with ARC Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) preferred.
  • Experience reconciling airline ticket sales, refunds, exchanges, voids, ADMs, ACMs, and settlement transactions preferred.
  • Experience in the travel, airline, or travel agency industry is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of ARC Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) processes.
  • Experience with Global Distribution Systems (GDS), including Sabre, Amadeus, Travelport via Galileo, is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reconciliation analysis, and data validation.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
