About the Role

YouTube Video Editor – Body Cam Footage

I’m hiring a YouTube video editor to edit body cam footage into engaging, polished videos for my YouTube channel.

The goal is to take longer raw footage and turn it into videos that keep viewers interested through strong pacing, storytelling, and clean editing.

Responsibilities

  • Review and organize raw body cam footage
  • Cut unnecessary or repetitive sections
  • Build a clear, easy-to-follow story from the footage
  • Keep pacing engaging without over-editing
  • Add subtitles/captions when needed
  • Add zooms, highlights, sound effects, graphics, or on-screen text where they improve the video
  • Blur or censor sensitive information when necessary
  • Add background music appropriately
  • Create a strong opening hook and maintain viewer retention throughout the video
  • Deliver finished videos ready to upload to YouTube

What I’m Looking For

  • Experience editing YouTube videos
  • Strong understanding of pacing and viewer retention
  • Good storytelling instincts
  • Ability to work with long-form raw footage
  • Clean, professional editing style
  • Reliable communication and consistent turnaround times
  • Ability to follow references and match an established channel style

Experience editing body cam, police footage, documentary, true-crime, commentary, or similar long-form content is a major plus.

When Applying, Please Include

  • Examples of YouTube videos you’ve edited
  • Any body cam or documentary-style editing examples
  • The editing software you use
  • Your typical turnaround time
  • Your rate per video or hourly rate
  • How many videos you can realistically complete per week

This can become ongoing work for the right editor, as I’m looking to consistently publish videos on the channel.

Please only apply if you’re comfortable reviewing lengthy raw footage and turning it into compelling YouTube content rather than simply making basic cuts.
