About the Role

Night Vision Australia is looking for an experienced Google Ads specialist to audit, restructure and grow our Google paid search activity.

We sell high-value thermal imaging, night vision and specialist optics through our WooCommerce website. Our Google Ads account has strong historical data and an established advertising budget, but we need someone with advanced technical and strategic expertise who can identify opportunities, solve complex issues and confidently challenge our current approach.
This is a hands-on role for a senior specialist and account manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting a comprehensive audit of our Google Ads account, Merchant Center, product feed and conversion tracking
  • Developing a clear strategy across Search, Shopping and Performance Max
  • Restructuring campaigns to improve control, efficiency and scalability
  • Separating product categories based on performance, profitability and advertising-policy risk
  • Improving brand, non-brand and product-specific Search campaigns
  • Reviewing search terms, keyword targeting, negatives, bidding strategies and budget allocation
  • Optimising Shopping feeds, product titles, custom labels and listing groups
  • Diagnosing Merchant Center issues, product disapprovals and Google Ads policy restrictions
  • Managing advertising for products within a complex, policy-sensitive industry
  • Ensuring purchase tracking and conversion values are accurate across Google Ads, GA4, GTM and WooCommerce
  • Identifying wasted spend and opportunities to increase qualified traffic, revenue and ROAS
  • Providing clear reporting focused on commercial performance
  • Working directly with our Head of Marketing

Required Experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • At least five years of hands-on Google Ads experience, ideally with high-value ecommerce products
  • Advanced knowledge of Performance Max, Google Shopping, Search and Merchant Centre
  • Proven experience restructuring and improving established ecommerce accounts
  • Strong understanding of product-feed optimisation and campaign segmentation
  • Experience working with policy-sensitive, regulated or frequently restricted product categories
  • Advanced knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager and ecommerce conversion tracking
  • Experience with WooCommerce is highly desirable
  • The ability to analyse performance beyond headline ROAS and consider revenue quality, margins, attribution and incremental growth
  • Confidence troubleshooting disapprovals and policy issues using compliant, sustainable methods
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex decisions clearly
  • A proactive approach, you should be able to identify what needs fixing without waiting for step-by-step direction

To apply, please include:

  • A brief summary of your relevant Google Ads experience
  • Examples of ecommerce accounts you have personally managed
  • Typical monthly advertising budgets managed
  • Evidence of measurable improvements you have delivered
  • Any experience with high-value or policy-sensitive products
