Part-Time Remote Construction Project Coordinator

We are a high-end residential glass and glazing contractor in California looking for a reliable part-time remote Construction Project Coordinator to help organize and maintain our project information.
This position will start by working directly with the company owner to set up and improve our project systems. As the person learns our business and projects, the role may expand into field coordination, project follow-up and daily job-status reporting.
Initial Responsibilities
The first phase of this role will focus on:
- Setting up and organizing our Google Drive project folder structure
- Creating consistent folders for all active projects
- Organizing plans, shop drawings, RFIs, field notes, schedules, quotes and project documents
- Reviewing and monitoring our DropTask project/task system
- Reviewing CompanyCam photos and project activity
- Keeping project information organized and current
- Working directly with the owner to understand what has been completed and what remains on each job
- Helping identify missing information, outstanding items and follow-ups
- Maintaining accurate project status information
- Helping improve our overall project tracking process
Potential Future Responsibilities
Once you understand our projects and systems, the role may expand to include:
- Daily communication with field lead employees
- Collecting job-status updates
- Updating completed work and remaining work
- Tracking items we are waiting on from contractors, architects or suppliers
- Following up on routine project items
- Maintaining project schedules
- Preparing short daily or weekly project-status summaries
- Communicating with contractors and suppliers on straightforward coordination items
Required Skills
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Previous experience with a U.S. construction company, contractor, subcontractor or construction-related business
- Strong understanding of construction terminology
- Familiar with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, schedules, punch lists and project documentation
- Strong Google Drive and Google Workspace skills
- Very organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable learning new software and systems
- Able to take unorganized project information and create a clear, logical system
- Comfortable working directly with a business owner
- Reliable internet connection and professional working environment
Experience with glass, windows, doors or architectural construction is helpful but not required.
Schedule
Approximately 15–20 hours per week to start.
Some overlap with Pacific Time business hours is required.
As the role develops, availability during the afternoon Pacific Time may become important for field coordination.
Compensation
Starting around $8–$10 USD per hour, depending on experience and communication ability.
There is potential for increased hours and responsibility as the position develops.
