You are a strong accountant who can take a client through a complete monthly close, produce reconciled and well-supported financial statements, and improve the process so the next close is faster and more reliable. You do not wait to be told that a balance is wrong. You investigate, ask clear questions, and own the result.
About Us: We are a growing U.S. CPA firm providing accounting, financial reporting, tax, and strategic-finance support to privately owned businesses and nonprofit organizations. We are hiring directly in the Philippines, not through a staffing agency. You will initially work directly with the firm owner, a U.S. CPA, and join a small team where strong work has a visible impact.
What You Will Own:
-Complete monthly closes for an assigned portfolio of U.S. clients.
-Bank, credit-card, accounts-receivable, accounts-payable, payroll, and other balance-sheet reconciliations.
-Month-end journal entries and schedules for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, debt, deferred revenue, equity, and other material accounts.
-Preparation and review of monthly financial statements, variance analysis, open-items lists, and concise client questions.
-Investigation of unusual, stale, duplicated, unsupported, or incorrectly classified balances and transactions.
-New-client onboarding, historical accounting cleanup, and conversion of incomplete accounting records when needed.
-Documentation of recurring procedures, close checklists, and workpapers.
-Practical improvements to accounting workflows, templates, reporting, and software integrations.
-Review of work completed by less-experienced accountants as the team grows.
Required Qualifications:
-At least four years of progressive accounting experience.
-At least two years of direct experience supporting U.S. companies or U.S. accounting firms.-
-Demonstrated personal ownership of complete month-end closes.
-Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, U.S. GAAP, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
-Advanced hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
-Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
-Experience managing multiple clients or legal entities at the same time.
-Excellent written and spoken English.
-Strong judgment, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and willingness to raise issues early.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience in a U.S. CPA firm or outsourced client-accounting practice.
-Philippine CPA license or QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
-Experience reviewing another accountant’s work.
-Experience with restaurant, hospitality, nonprofit, or other multi-entity accounting.
-Familiarity with systems such as ---------- , ADP, Gusto, Ramp, Expensify, MarginEdge, Restaurant365, or similar applications.
Engagement and Compensation:
-Long-term independent-contractor engagement.
-Forty hours of reserved capacity per week.
-This role should be your primary professional commitment and cannot be combined with another full-time job.
-Fully remote from anywhere in the Philippines.
-Flexible working schedule with no mandatory full overnight shift.
-Participation in agreed meetings and compliance with U.S. client deadlines are required.
-Gross monthly contractor fee of $2,400/month based on experience and demonstrated ability.
