About the Role

Social Media Video Editor & Content Creative for Fitness/Coaching Brand

NOTE: Do not apply through here - read ad, then apply below by clicking google form link

I’m looking for a creative and reliable social media editor to join me on an ongoing part-time basis.

The majority of the work will be supporting my fitness coaching business, Peak & Base Training and Nutrition, creating content around fat loss, strength training, muscle building, nutrition and helping everyday people get into better shape.

There may also occasionally be content relating to business coaching, Anytime Fitness and other projects I’m involved with.

What you'll mainly be helping with

Your primary responsibility will be editing and repurposing social media content, including:

  • Instagram Reels and other short-form videos
  • Talking-head content
  • Gym footage and B-roll
  • Voiceover-style videos
  • Podcast/coaching-call clips from time to time
  • Carousels
  • Story graphics
  • Before-and-after transformations
  • Thumbnails
  • Static promotional graphics
  • Occasional Meta ad or landing-page creatives
  • Repurposing older content into our current branding

Most short-form videos will be approximately 45–90 seconds

The editing style is generally personality-driven rather than overly cinematic.

Think:

  • Strong captions
  • Punch-in zooms
  • B-roll
  • Stock footage where appropriate
  • Sound effects
  • Lists, charts and graphic overlays
  • Pattern interrupts
  • Clean pacing
  • Good storytelling

A lot of the content uses humour, personality and sometimes cheeky or shock-style jokes, so strong English comprehension is important.

I'm looking for more than someone who just presses buttons

I'll retain the final say over the direction, hooks and messaging, but I'd love to work with someone who is confident enough to contribute ideas.

Ideally, you'll regularly bring me 3–5 content ideas, trends, hooks or formats each week that suit:

  • Our audience
  • Our current marketing objectives
  • What's currently working on social media
  • Any offer or campaign we're currently promoting

If you've got experience helping with hooks, scripts, shot ideas or content strategy, that's a big advantage.

I want this to feel collaborative.

If you see a better way of presenting something, I'd rather you tell me than simply wait for instructions.

Experience

Ideally, you have at least 1 year of regular social-media editing experience, although portfolio quality and actual ability matter far more to me than how many years you've been editing.

Experience working with:

  • Fitness
  • Coaches
  • Personal brands
  • Educational content

is preferred but isn't essential.

A great editor with excellent creative instincts will absolutely be considered regardless of niche.

Software

I'm not concerned about which specific editing software you prefer.

You may use CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, After Effects or another tool.

I also have access to CapCut Pro and Canva Pro, which can potentially be provided if required.

We'll predominantly work through tools such as:

  • Google Drive
  • CapCut Cloud
  • Canva
  • WhatsApp

Hours

Initially, I expect this role to be approximately 5–10 hours per week.

For the right person, there is definitely room for this to grow toward 15–20+ hours per week as the business and content output grow.

Some crossover with Australian Eastern Standard Time is preferred. Ideally, you can overlap for at least 1–2 hours on most working days when required.

Most work can still be completed asynchronously.

What matters to me

I'm looking for someone who is:

  • Creative
  • Reliable
  • Organised
  • Confident
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
  • Good at communicating
  • Interested in social-media trends
  • Able to understand humour and conversational English
  • Capable of working independently
  • Willing to bring ideas instead of constantly waiting for instructions

The goal is to build an ongoing relationship with someone who can become an important part of the content process as the role grows.
