About the Role

Position Overview

Veracity Compliance, Inc. is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized Labor Compliance Specialist / Auditor to support the review, auditing, and administration of labor compliance requirements for public works, federally funded, and other regulated construction projects. The ideal candidate must be able to follow instructions carefully, adhere to established workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain accurate and orderly documentation, and consistently complete detailed processes without skipping required steps.

This is not strictly an administrative compliance position. We are specifically seeking a candidate with a strong auditing and accounting background who is comfortable reviewing payroll records, reconciling financial information, identifying discrepancies, documenting findings, and conducting detailed compliance reviews.

The ideal candidate understands how financial records connect and has experience in auditing, accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, or financial reconciliation. Prior labor compliance or construction experience is highly preferred but may not be required for an exceptional accounting/audit candidate who can learn regulatory requirements quickly.

A CPA, CPA candidate, or candidate with formal accounting/auditing credentials is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Labor Compliance & Auditing

Conduct detailed audits of contractor and subcontractor labor compliance documentation.
Review Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Follow up with contractors and subcontractors regarding outstanding deficiencies and corrective actions.
Assist with internal and external compliance audits and investigations.

Review AP and AR documentation when relevant to compliance verification.
Trace transactions and payments through supporting accounting records.
Identify mathematical errors, duplicate transactions, inconsistencies, missing payments, and unsupported amounts.
Analyze spreadsheets and large volumes of financial information with a high degree of accuracy.
Verify calculations independently rather than relying solely on information provided by contractors.
Maintain organized records capable of supporting an audit, investigation, or agency review.
