Teaching Assistant
Confidential employer
Remote - Teaching Assistant to work with a college instructor to update his online business courses. The main goal of this gig or part-time job is to redesign the online course modules so they are student-user-friendly and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act for students who may be visually impaired. In the US, the Americans with Disabilities Act requires course materials to be "accessible" for students who are visually impaired. For example, the course content would need to describe all pictures on the online course platform, called CANVAS, so a screen reader that blind students use can read the image description. Similar functions are available in PowerPoint and through ADOBE PDF, where you can edit the file so a reader can read the description to a visually impaired student using tools to read the file or CANVAS page.
This gig or part-time job is expected to last about 16 weeks, at the least, with about (average) 5 hours a week of work. This gig may become a long-term part-time teaching assistant position.
Guidance will be provided weekly so you can update and edit modules each week.
