About the Role
We're looking for a highly experienced and confident Bookkeeper with strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and tax requirements. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — we need someone who can take charge of day-to-day bookkeeping and reduce our reliance on our accountant for routine matters.
The ideal candidate has previously worked with Australian businesses and has a solid understanding of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG withholding, superannuation, and payroll compliance. Experience with motor vehicle transactions and FBT is highly regarded.

3. Payroll & Compliance
Set up and manage Australian employee and contractor payroll in Xero
Process regular and unscheduled pay runs
Handle superannuation processing and corrections
Manage STP reporting and year-end finalisation

Ensure all records are accurate and complete ahead of accountant handoffs
Required Skills & Experience
Xero: High-level, hands-on Xero experience is essential — this is non-negotiable
Australian Market: Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG withholding, superannuation, and payroll compliance; prior experience working with Australian businesses is required
Payroll: Confident with employee and contractor setup, pay runs, STP, and super processing
Motor Vehicle Transactions: Experience recording vehicle purchases, sales, and related adjustments is highly regarded; understanding of FBT is a plus
Profile: Confident, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal oversight — someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be directed
