Structural Steel Detailer / Draftsperson |Dayshift| WFH

I'm looking to hire an experienced Structural Steel Detailer / Draftsperson with proven hands-on experience producing detailed structural steel shop drawings for fabrication and manufacturing. This is not a general drafting role — the successful candidate must have direct experience preparing drawings that can be issued to a steel fabricator/manufacturer for production.

Requirements
-Hands-on experience producing structural steel shop/fabrication drawings
-Experience preparing drawings for direct fabrication/manufacturing
-Proficiency in Tekla Structures and/or Revit
-Australian structural steel detailing experience is essential
-Strong understanding of structural steel connections, members, detailing, and fabrication requirements
-Ability to interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-Good understanding of Australian standards and drafting practices
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

Nice to Have
-Experience with Australian commercial, industrial, or construction projects
-Experience coordinating with structural engineers, fabricators, and manufacturers
-Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
-Experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM/detailing software
-Previous experience working remotely with Australian clients

Key Responsibilities
-Produce detailed structural steel shop and fabrication drawings
-Prepare drawings suitable for fabrication and manufacturing
-Develop and detail structural steel members and connections
-Create and update models using Tekla and/or Revit
-Interpret engineering drawings and project specifications
-Coordinate detailing with engineers, fabricators, and project teams
-Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements
-Revise drawings based on engineering and fabrication feedback
