Senior Product Sourcing & Development Specialist – Extremely Experienced in China & Global OEM/ODM

We’re looking for an extremely experienced Product Sourcing & Development Specialist with a strong track record in China and global OEM/ODM manufacturing.

This is not an entry-level sourcing role. We need someone who can take a product concept or brief and independently manage the process from supplier research → factory evaluation → negotiation → sampling → product improvement → production.

You should be highly experienced with Alibaba, 1688, Made-in-China, Global Sources, direct factories and other sourcing channels.

Responsibilities

• Source and identify highly capable OEM/ODM manufacturers
• Evaluate factories based on capabilities, quality, certifications, MOQ, pricing and lead times
• Negotiate directly with manufacturers on pricing, MOQ, samples and production terms
• Compare materials, formulations, specifications and manufacturing options
• Challenge supplier recommendations and propose better alternatives where possible
• Coordinate sampling, revisions and product development
• Verify certifications, test reports, COA, MSDS and relevant documentation
• Source packaging, components and supporting materials
• Maintain detailed supplier comparisons and development progress
• Manage sourcing through to production readiness

Who we're looking for

• Extensive proven experience in product sourcing and OEM/ODM development
• Strong China manufacturing and supplier network knowledge
• Advanced experience with Alibaba, 1688 and direct factory sourcing
• Able to identify genuine manufacturers vs trading companies
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Experience developing multiple types of consumer products
• Excellent attention to product specifications, quality and costing
• Mandarin/Chinese communication is highly preferred
• Able to work independently without requiring step-by-step instructions

We are not looking for someone who simply searches for suppliers and forwards quotations.

We want someone experienced enough to understand the product, question the factory, identify better solutions, negotiate aggressively and help us develop products that can compete with leading brands.
