Architectural Metalwork AutoCAD Drafter / Shop Drawing Specialist

D’Hierro, a Dallas architectural iron and steel company, is looking for an experienced AutoCAD Drafter / Shop Drawing Specialist. You will turn architectural plans, field dimensions, sketches, redlines, and product information into accurate, fabrication-ready and client-review drawings.

Our work includes:

• Steel and aluminum doors and windows
• Interior and exterior railings
• Glazing, curtain wall, storefront, and related architectural metal systems
• Custom iron and steel details

Your responsibilities

• Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and shop/fabrication drawings
• Convert PDFs, sketches, measurements, and architectural backgrounds into clean DWG files
• Apply redlines quickly and maintain accurate revision history
• Check dimensions, scale, layers, lineweights, notes, references, and drawing coordination
• Identify missing information and write concise RFIs before drafting around assumptions
• Export organized DWG and PDF deliverables on schedule
• Coordinate with our Dallas team during an agreed overlap window

Required experience

• Strong AutoCAD skills and a portfolio of real construction/shop drawings
• Experience with architectural metalwork, steel/aluminum doors and windows, railings, glazing, storefront, or curtain wall
• Ability to read U.S. architectural and structural drawing sets
• Comfortable working in imperial units
• Strong attention to constructability, accuracy, and turnaround time
• Bluebeam experience is a plus
