Canva Designer — Coaches' Course Workbook (Formatting & Layout)
About the Job
I'm building a workbook for a coaches' training course in Canva. The written content and illustrations are handled on my end — I need a detail-oriented Canva designer to take that content and turn it into a clean, consistent, professional-looking workbook.
This is not a content-writing or illustration role. It's a formatting, layout, and design-polish role.
What you'll be doing
Applying templates, fonts, font sizes, and colors consistently across every page of the workbook
Adding callout boxes throughout (tips, quotes, exercises, etc.) in a consistent style
Moving content from a Word document into the Canva workbook for modules that still need it
Reapplying formatting and shifting layout as I make content edits and revisions
Getting page numbers and footer placement exactly right and consistent on every page
Building a table of contents once the workbook is complete (with accurate page references)
Must-haves
Your own active Canva Pro account
An active subscription to at least one AI tool (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Canva AI features, or similar) — please tell me which one(s) you use and how
A strong eye for visual consistency — spacing, alignment, and repetition of style matter a lot on this project
Comfortable working inside an existing template/brand system rather than designing from scratch
Able to follow detailed instructions precisely and ask questions when something is unclear, rather than guessing
Nice-to-haves
Experience formatting workbooks, course materials, lead magnets, or ebooks in Canva
Experience working with coaches, course creators, or the education/training space
Comfortable using Canva's page-numbering, table-of-contents, and footer tools specifically (not just design features)
How I'll evaluate applicants
Because consistency and precision are the whole job here, I'm not hiring off a resume or portfolio alone. Every candidate who looks like a fit will be asked to complete a short, paid test task (a few pages of real workbook content, formatted to a style guide I'll provide) before we discuss the full project. This lets us both confirm the working style is a good match before committing to ongoing work.
To apply, please include
A link to 2–3 Canva projects you formatted yourself (workbooks, ebooks, or course materials preferred) — please note your actual role on each one
Confirmation that you have your own Canva Pro account
Which AI tool(s) you subscribe to and how you'd expect to use them on this project
Your availability (hours/week) and typical turnaround time for a multi-page formatting pass
One or two sentences on how you handle a project where the content keeps changing after formatting is done (this happens often on this project)
Scope and expectations
This starts as a small paid test project. If it goes well, it becomes an ongoing role with ongoing revisions as I build out the rest of the workbook.
Please plan on working directly in a shared Canva file rather than a copy — version control matters here.
Response time: I'd like same-day or next-business-day replies during active revision rounds.
Rate
$5/hour, approximately 10 hours/week to start
