About the Role

Restaurant Sales Development Representative
Research, Cold Calling & Lead Qualification
REMOTE • PART-TIME CONTRACT • APPROX. 20 HOURS/WEEK

About FetchMe
FetchMe helps independent restaurants grow direct revenue through modern websites, online ordering, catering, delivery, and restaurant technology. We help restaurants strengthen their brand, own their customer relationships, and reduce unnecessary dependence on third-party marketplaces.

Position Summary
FetchMe is hiring a part-time Restaurant Sales Development Representative to identify, contact, and qualify independent restaurants in selected U.S. markets. This is not a data-entry-only research position. The role requires speaking directly with restaurant owners, general managers, and other decision-makers by phone.
You will research prospective restaurants, make outbound calls, understand how each restaurant currently handles its website, online ordering, catering, and delivery, identify business needs, and create qualified opportunities for the FetchMe sales team. You are not responsible for closing the sale; you are responsible for determining whether the restaurant is worth the sales team's time and securing the right next step.
Success is not a bigger spreadsheet. Success is a legitimate restaurant opportunity created through accurate research and a real conversation.

Core Responsibilities
Research and Prepare

  • Identify independent restaurants that match FetchMe's target customer profile.
  • Research ownership, location count, website, online ordering, catering, delivery, and technology setup.
  • Identify and verify the owner, general manager, operator, or other relevant decision-maker.
  • Document the reason each restaurant may be a good fit before outreach begins.

Call and Engage

  • Make outbound calls during appropriate U.S. restaurant business hours.
  • Professionally navigate restaurant staff and gatekeepers.
  • Explain the purpose of the call clearly without sounding scripted or aggressive.
  • Ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and follow up consistently by phone or email .

Qualify and Advance

  • Understand the restaurant's current website, online ordering, POS, catering, phone ordering, delivery, and third-party marketplace setup.
  • Identify real needs such as an outdated website, no direct ordering, high third-party dependence, missed phone orders, weak catering tools, unreliable delivery, or limited customer data.
  • Determine whether the restaurant is a qualified FetchMe opportunity.

Schedule a meeting or establish a clear, credible next step with the decision-maker.

Document and Improve

  • Record every call, conversation, objection, qualification insight, next action, and next-action date in the assigned tracker or CRM.
  • Provide concise notes that allow a salesperson to continue the conversation intelligently.
  • Report recurring objections, competitor information, customer needs, and market feedback.
  • Never fabricate contact information, conversations, or qualification details.

What Counts as a Qualified Opportunity
A restaurant should not be handed to sales as qualified unless all of the following are true:

  • The restaurant matches FetchMe's target customer profile.
  • The owner or relevant decision-maker has been identified.
  • The current website, ordering, catering, or delivery setup has been reasonably confirmed.
  • A legitimate business need or growth opportunity has been identified.
  • The restaurant has agreed to a next step, or there is a credible path to engaging the decision-maker.
  • Complete and accurate notes have been entered into the tracker or CRM.

A restaurant name and email address alone are not a qualified opportunity.

Qualifications
REQUIRED

  • Prior cold-calling, appointment-setting, SDR, telemarketing, lead-qualification, or outbound-sales experience.
  • Strong spoken and written English with a clear, professional phone presence.
  • Comfort speaking with U.S.-based small-business owners and managers.
  • Ability to ask follow-up questions and hold a natural business conversation.
  • Strong listening, note-taking, organization, and follow-up discipline.
  • Experience researching decision-makers and business contact information.
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional calling environment.
  • Ability to work agreed U.S. Eastern or Central business hours.

Preferred

  • Restaurant, hospitality, foodservice, POS, payments, delivery, or restaurant-technology experience.
  • Experience calling independent restaurants or owner-operated businesses.
  • Experience using a CRM or structured sales tracker.
  • Experience booking qualified meetings for a sales team.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Maps, LinkedIn, Apollo, Hunter, Toast, Clover, Square, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, or ezCater.

Hours and Compensation

  • Approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Schedule must include consistent overlap with U.S. Eastern or Central business hours.
  • Most calls will be placed outside peak lunch and dinner periods; preferred windows are generally 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 2:00-4:30 p.m. in the restaurant's local time.
  • $5-$7 USD per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated phone ability.
  • Potential performance incentives may be tied to qualified meetings that are completed, opportunities accepted by sales, and CRM accuracy.

Performance Expectations

  • Benchmarks will be calibrated during the first 30 days. Performance will be evaluated on quality and business impact, including:
  • Accuracy and quality of restaurant research
  • Outbound call activity and meaningful conversations
  • Verified decision-makers and qualified opportunities
  • Meetings scheduled and completed
  • Quality and completeness of CRM notes
  • Follow-up discipline, judgment, and coachability

Mandatory Two-Stage Selection Process
Stage 1: Recorded Role-Play and Qualification Test
Stage 1 is part of the application process itself. As part of applying, all candidates will complete a recorded, approximately 20-minute video role-play that includes a simulated call with a busy restaurant manager. Candidates should record the roleplay with a colleague, who will play the role of the restaurant manager, and then submit the video along with their application materials.
In the recording, the candidate must explain the reason for the call, navigate a gatekeeper, ask discovery questions, respond naturally, handle an objection, determine whether the restaurant is qualified, secure an appropriate next step, and submit concise CRM notes immediately afterward.
Candidates who pass Stage 1 will be shortlisted and invited to move on to Stage 2: Paid Practical Trial.
Sample objection: “We already use Toast and DoorDash, and we are happy with them.”

Stage 2: Paid Practical Trial
The strongest candidates will complete a paid trial using 5-10 FetchMe-approved restaurant targets. The trial must be completed within a 48-72 hour window from the time targets are issued, and is compensated at a flat rate.
Candidates will research each restaurant, identify the likely decision-maker, make outbound calls, document each attempt and conversation, confirm the restaurant's current setup when possible, identify a legitimate business need, recommend the next step, and enter complete notes into the assigned tracker or CRM.

Scorecard (1-5 each): Phone presence | Listening | Discovery | Qualification | Notes and coachability
The final decision will be based on actual calling performance, qualification quality, documentation, and coachability – not just the resume, written application, or hourly rate.
