We're looking for a creative and highly skilled Instagram Reels Video Editor who understands how to make videos that keep viewers watching until the end.

Our content focuses on the Fitness Coaching niche, specifically talking-head hooks, transformation storytelling, and fast-paced educational list-style reels, so we need an editor who understands punchy hooks, quick pacing, on-screen text timing, and viewer retention psychology.

Position: Instagram Reels Video Editor

Responsibilities:

Edit engaging, high-retention Instagram Reels from raw talking-head and B-roll footage
Create videos across formats including talking-head hooks, ranked list-style content ("Top 5," "10/10"), storytelling reels, and gym/lifestyle B-roll content
Add clean, well-timed on-screen captions that match the voiceover exactly
Use fast-paced cuts, sound effects, and transitions to maintain pacing throughout
Make the first 2 to 3 seconds visually strong and attention-grabbing
Add pattern interrupts and B-roll cutaways to prevent viewers scrolling away
Sync music and sound effects to match the energy and beats of the script
Ensure every video builds toward a clear CTA at the end
Follow reference videos, editing styles, and brand guidelines provided
Be open to revisions and continuously improve editing quality

Requirements:

Must have experience editing Instagram Reels or TikTok-style short-form content
Must understand viewer retention and pacing for vertical video
Must know how to use captions, music, sound effects, and timing to hold attention
Must know how to create strong visual hooks in the first few seconds
Experience with fitness, coaching, or talking-head content is a plus
Knowledge of CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing software
Can sync visuals, captions, sound effects, and voiceover accurately
Can follow a script while also adding creative editing ideas
Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
Must be willing to complete a sample editing test

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of Instagram's algorithm and Reels retention patterns
Understanding of viral short-form fitness or coaching content
Experience using zooms, motion graphics, sound effects, and pattern interrupts
Ability to analyze competitor reels and recreate a similar pacing and flow while keeping it original
