Part-time Australian Tax Accountant (Remote)

We are a small and growing tax and accounting practice based in Melbourne, Australia, looking for an experienced Australian tax accountant to join us on a long-term remote contractor basis.

Hours
Flexible working hours depend on workload
More hours available during July to October

Responsibilities
Prepare Australian financial statements and year-end workpapers
Prepare company, trust and individual tax returns
Prepare BAS and perform Xero bookkeeping when required
General accounting support

Requirements
Previous experience in an Australian public practice is essential
Able to prepare Australian financial statements and tax returns independently, with minimal training or supervision
Strong knowledge of Australian tax and accounting
Proficient in Xero (XPM experience is an advantage)
Efficient, reliable and able to consistently produce high-quality work
Good written English and communication skills
