Part-Time Content Production & Marketing VA — Video Editing + Social Media
Confidential employer
I’m looking for a highly organized, creative, tech-savvy part-time assistant to help me turn existing ideas and raw content into polished, finished content and get it published.
I’m a MindBody Grief + Pain Coach with an established voice, brand, and content strategy. I have plenty of ideas and source material. I’m not looking for someone to invent generic social media content for me. I’m looking for someone who can take clear creative/editorial direction and efficiently turn it into finished assets.
The biggest part of the role: video editing + repurposing
You’ll work with raw talking-head video and/or longer-form content to create polished short-form content for Instagram Reels, Facebook , and YouTube Shorts.
You should be able to:
- Edit from a provided transcript, paper edit, or detailed cut list
- Create polished short-form videos with excellent captions, text emphasis, tasteful punch-ins/zooms, music, graphics, transitions, and B-roll when appropriate
- Clean and balance audio and do basic color correction
- Create multiple versions and shorter cut-downs from the same source material
- Create title cards/covers
- Format/export content appropriately for different platforms
- Keep editable project files organized so revisions are easy
You do NOT need to use a specific editing program. We currently use Descript and CapCut, but Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or another professional workflow is completely fine. I care much more about the quality and efficiency of your work than which software you use.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Creating carousels and other graphics in Canva using established brand templates
- Uploading and scheduling approved content to Instagram, Facebook , and YouTube
- Formatting captions/descriptions that are already provided
- Organizing raw footage, finished videos, graphics, and other content assets
- Maintaining a simple content calendar
- Repurposing approved content across platforms
- Occasional light marketing/admin support
I’m looking for someone who:
- Has excellent English comprehension
- Has strong visual taste and attention to detail
- Is already experienced editing engaging short-form talking-head content
- Can follow detailed instructions without needing constant supervision
- Is organized and reliable
- Communicates clearly when something is unclear
- Is comfortable learning an established brand and workflow
- Can work independently once a process has been established
- Is comfortable using AI tools as part of an efficient workflow
Experience working with coaches, educators, wellness brands, or other expert-led personal brands is a plus, but not required.
To apply
Please include:
1. A brief introduction and your hourly rate.
2. Which video editing software you prefer and why.
3. Links to 2–3 examples of short-form talking-head videos you personally edited. Please don’t send a huge portfolio—I want to see the work most relevant to this job.
4. Tell me what you would typically add to a simple talking-head video to make it polished and engaging without making it feel overproduced.
5. Tell me about your experience with Canva and publishing/scheduling content for Instagram, Facebook , and YouTube.
6. Please begin your application with the word BLUE so I know you’ve read the full job description.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a paid video-editing test using actual source material and instructions similar to the work you’d be doing in this role.
