About the Role

The Ivy Rose Agency is a UK-based creative marketing agency working with a diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C clients.

We create strategic, engaging social media content designed to help our clients build their brands, communicate with their audiences and achieve real business objectives.

We're looking for an experienced Social Media Content Writer / Content Creator based in the Philippines to work remotely alongside our UK team.

This is an ongoing freelance opportunity for someone who genuinely understands social media — not simply someone who can write captions.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for turning client briefs, ideas and supplied assets into engaging, platform-specific social media content.

Our UK team manages the direct relationship with our clients. You'll work closely with them via Slack to understand each client's objectives, audience, tone of voice and upcoming priorities, before creating content ready for approval and scheduling.

You'll work across a varied portfolio, so the ability to adapt your writing style is essential. One client may require authoritative B2B thought leadership for LinkedIn, while another may need engaging, trend-led B2C content for Instagram or TikTok.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Writing high-quality social media copy for platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • Creating content that feels natural and contextual for a UK audience
  • Adapting your writing to match different client brands, industries and tones of voice
  • Researching relevant topics, industry developments and social media trends to identify content opportunities
  • Understanding the difference between simply repurposing content and creating content specifically for each platform
  • Writing platform-specific formats such as LinkedIn articles, thought-leadership posts, carousel copy and supporting captions
  • Creating unique and engaging captions rather than repeating the text contained within graphics or carousels
  • Applying current social media best practices when creating content
  • Taking supplied raw video footage and, where required, carrying out basic social-first video editing to create engaging or trend-led posts
  • Making amendments following feedback from our UK team
  • Scheduling approved content to the relevant social media platforms
  • Communicating regularly with our team through Slack

What We're Looking For:

You must have:

  • Excellent written English
  • The ability to write naturally and confidently for a UK audience
  • Professional experience writing social media content
  • A strong understanding of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
  • An understanding of how content and writing styles should differ between platforms
  • The ability to research unfamiliar industries and quickly understand what will interest their audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail, spelling and grammar
  • The ability to follow brand guidelines and accurately replicate different tones of voice
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to ask questions when a brief isn't clear
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage content across multiple clients
  • Experience scheduling social media content
  • Availability to work and communicate with our team during UK working hours

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Basic social media video editing skills
  • Experience with tools such as CapCut, Canva or similar
  • Experience working within a marketing or social media agency
  • Experience creating content for both B2B and B2C brands
  • A good understanding of current social media trends and how to decide when a trend is, or isn't, appropriate for a particular brand

An Important Note About AI:

We're happy for our team to use AI tools intelligently as part of their workflow.
However, we're not looking for someone who simply generates captions using ChatGPT and submits them.

We're looking for a writer who can think creatively, research a subject, understand a client's audience and develop genuinely strong content. AI can support that process, but the thinking, judgement and final quality need to come from you.

Working With Us:

This is a remote freelance position working alongside our UK-based team.

You'll communicate primarily through Slack, with our UK team managing direct client communication. You'll therefore need to be responsive and available during agreed UK working hours.

We're looking for someone we can build a strong, ongoing working relationship with and who can become a trusted extension of The Ivy Rose Agency team.

How to Apply:

Please send us:

  • A short introduction about yourself and your social media experience
  • Examples of social media content you've personally written
  • Examples of brands or industries you've created content for
  • Details of any video editing experience you have
  • The social media scheduling tools/platforms you've previously used
  • Your availability during UK working hours
  • Your hourly rate and/or preferred monthly freelance rate

Please also include the word “IVY” at the beginning of your application so we know you've read the full job description.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a small paid content task so we can assess writing quality, creativity, platform knowledge and ability to write for a UK audience.
