About the Role

Our client is a leading eCommerce technology provider, delivering EDI trading exchanges, master data management, catalogue services, system development, web design and scan data capture to enterprise and SME organisations across Australia and New Zealand.

They're looking for an experienced eCommerce Consultant to join the team in a hands-on role connecting clients and trading partners through EDI and Gentran, and seeing projects through from first requirements to go-live.

Gentran experience is essential

This role sits at the heart of the client's EDI environment, connecting trading partners through Gentran. You'll need to have implemented, tested, troubleshot and supported EDI connections using Gentran in a previous role. General EDI knowledge without practical Gentran experience won't be enough. We need someone who can hit the ground running from day one.

About the role

You'll work across a range of eCommerce and EDI projects including project coordination, EDI mapping, document testing, data validation, XML transformation, troubleshooting and system documentation. You will be working closely with clients, trading partners and a small, experienced internal team and report to the eCommerce Projects Team Leader.

This role suits someone technically capable, confident working directly with clients, and comfortable juggling several projects at once.

Key responsibilities

Deliver eCommerce and EDI projects from kick-off through to go-live

Establish and support trading partner EDI connections using Gentran

Complete EDI document mapping and XML transformation

Carry out document format, integrity and data validation testing

Investigate and resolve EDI and system issues, escalating where needed

Coordinate projects, track timelines and prepare reporting as required

Manage competing priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Required skills and experience:

Proven, hands-on Gentran experience is essential

Experience with EDI, EDI mapping and related technologies

Experience with XML schemas and document mapping

1–2+ years implementing technical projects, with project coordination experience

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills

Confident communicator, comfortable dealing directly with clients

Able to work independently and as part of a small team, to deadlines

Experience working within documented systems, support and escalation processes

Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

A tertiary qualification in an IT-related discipline

Desirable

Experience with an EDI service provider

SQL Server experience

Visual Basic scripting or related technologies

Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification

If you have the EDI and Gentran experience we are looking for and enjoy working directly with clients to get projects delivered, we would like to hear from you.
