Experienced Video Editor & Content Producer – Part-Time, Long-Term
Confidential employer
Hours: 4 hours per day / 20 hours per week
Salary: $400–$500 USD per month, depending on experience
Location: Remote – Philippines
Position: Long-term, following an initial paid trial period
We are a growing UK professional services business looking for an experienced Video Editor & Content Producer to join our marketing team on a long-term, part-time basis.
This is not a basic video editing role where you will be given timestamps and told exactly what to cut.
We are looking for someone with strong editorial judgement who can take professionally recorded raw footage, understand the subject and identify the best content within it.
You should be comfortable thinking: "That answer would make a great 45-second standalone video." rather than waiting for us to tell you where the good parts are.
What You'll Be Working On:
We are significantly increasing our use of video across our website, YouTube and social media.
You will work with footage including:
- Professionally recorded expert videos
- Interviews and conversations
- Educational and thought-leadership content
- Monthly webinars
- Website videos
- Longer-form YouTube content
Your job will be to turn this footage into high-quality content for multiple uses.
This will include:
- Editing polished videos for our website
- Producing longer-form YouTube videos
- Identifying highlights within longer recordings
- Creating YouTube Shorts and other short-form videos
- Creating content for LinkedIn, Instagram and potentially TikTok
- Turning webinars into useful evergreen videos
- Extracting strong standalone clips from webinars and longer recordings
- Adding professional captions, graphics, titles and other visual elements where appropriate
- Creating different formats and aspect ratios for different platforms
- Creating engaging thumbnails and video covers
We do not want every platform to simply receive a resized version of the same edit. You should understand that a website video, YouTube video, LinkedIn video and Instagram Reel can require different treatment.
The Most Important Part of the Role-
- You need to be a self-starter. We don't want to spend hours reviewing footage and giving you a list of timestamps.
We want to be able to give you the raw material, explain the purpose and audience, and trust you to identify what is worth producing.
As you become familiar with our business, we want you to increasingly make recommendations about how our existing footage can be repurposed and what video content we should create next.
Who We're Looking For:
You should have:
- Strong professional video editing experience
- Excellent spoken and written English comprehension
- Experience editing both long-form and short-form content
- Strong editorial judgement and storytelling ability
- Experience creating content for YouTube and social platforms
- Good understanding of pacing, hooks and viewer retention
- Experience with captions, graphics and basic motion graphics
- Good visual/design judgement
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organisation and file management
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Experience creating YouTube thumbnails and social media graphics would be a significant advantage.
Experience working with professional services, educational, expert-led or B2B content would also be particularly useful.
Working With Our Marketing Team:
You will work closely with our full-time Marketing Executive, Angel.
Angel will lead our wider marketing and content programme, while we expect you to take ownership of the video production side.
If you also have experience with social media content strategy, analytics or developing content ideas, that's a bonus. Over time, we'd like you to contribute ideas based on what you're seeing in the footage and what performs well.
However, excellent video editing and the ability to work independently are the priority.
Hours and Working Arrangement:
This is initially a 20-hour-per-week role, approximately 4 hours per day Monday to Friday.
We are happy to provide some flexibility around working hours, although there should be reasonable overlap with the UK working day and good communication with our marketing team and leadership.
There will initially be a substantial amount of professionally recorded footage to work through, followed by an ongoing programme of new videos, webinars and social content.
We are looking for someone who wants to become a long-term member of our team, not someone looking for occasional freelance projects.
Salary:
$400–$500 USD per month, depending on experience and portfolio.
The role will begin with an initial paid trial period of 2 weeks, with the intention of continuing long-term if it is a good fit for both sides.
How to Apply:
Please send us:
- A short introduction about yourself and your video editing experience.
- Links to 3 examples of your best work – ideally including both long-form and short-form content.
- Examples of any thumbnails or graphics you have designed.
- Details of the editing and design software you regularly use.
- A brief explanation of how you approach a long recording when the client has not provided timestamps and wants you to identify the best clips yourself.
- Your expected monthly salary for a 20-hour-per-week position.
Please don't send us dozens of portfolio links. We would rather see three pieces of work you are genuinely proud of.
We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced editors who enjoy taking ownership of their work and want a stable, long-term position with a growing business.
