About the Role
I am seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wills & Estates Paralegal to join our busy private client practice. Working alongside our Principal Solicitors and senior practitioners, you will play a vital role in supporting clients through estate planning, probate, and estate administration matters with care, efficiency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Probate & Administration: Prepare and draft court applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration in NSW, under solicitor supervision.
- Estate Planning Drafting: Assist with drafting Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardianships, and testamentary trust documentation.
- Estate Administration: Assist with the collection, management, and distribution of estate assets, including liaising with Australian banks, financial institutions, state registries, government bodies, and beneficiaries.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a compassionate and professional primary point of contact for clients and families navigating succession planning or bereavement.
- File & Workflow Management: Maintain accurate electronic file records, monitor critical court/registry deadlines, and ensure seamless matter management.
Key Requirements & Experience:
- Direct Australian experience conducting Will reviews to ensure legal validity and flagging or approving standard clauses.
- Proven experience drafting estate documents, including Wills, affidavits, and standard court forms.
- Strong legal research skills to assist solicitors with succession and estate procedures.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach to managing sensitive inquiries.
- Strong administrative and organizational capability to manage file records, data entry, and signing schedules.
- Native or professional English fluency, with additional bilingual skills highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of the New South Wales (NSW) legal jurisdiction and practice requirements.
Preferred Tools & Technology:
- Experience with automated estate planning platforms and online Will-generation tools (e.g., Safewill or similar platforms).
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms and team collaboration software.
- Experience using electronic document management tools for scanning, filing, and organizing digital legal matters.
- Basic familiarity with digital design or presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom) for internal practice support
