Freelance Graphic Designer / WordPress Production Designer

We’re looking for an experienced, fast and reliable designer to assist with a large-scale information website project.

Project overview

The project involves laying out supplied content across approximately 900 pages in WordPress, following an established website design and page structure.

Your role will primarily involve website content production and graphic design, including preparing diagrams and visual content, building pages, adding resources and ensuring everything is consistently formatted and correctly linked.

The work will include
Laying out supplied text and content across approximately 900 website pages
Creating pages within WordPress using an established design and page structure
Creating or recreating diagrams, illustrations and simple information graphics where required
Preparing diagrams in a format that can also be supplied to the agency producing the accompanying PDF publication
Adding supplied PDFs and resources to relevant pages
Creating links between related pages and resources
Linking pages into the website menu/navigation structure
Checking formatting, links and visual consistency as the project progresses

Not every page will require a diagram. From the material reviewed so far, many of the diagrams appear relatively straightforward, although there will be a mixture of simple and more detailed graphics.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you will be:

A strong graphic designer with excellent layout and production skills
Comfortable working efficiently across a very high volume of content
Confident recreating diagrams, illustrations and information graphics
Very comfortable working within an established design system rather than designing every page from scratch
Detail-oriented and able to maintain consistency across a large project
Comfortable working directly in WordPress
Reliable and able to work independently within an agreed workflow

Experience working with medical, health, educational or other information-heavy content would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Availability

The work is flexible and can be completed during weekdays, evenings and/or weekends.

This would suit an experienced freelancer who is efficient with production design, comfortable with repetitive high-volume work and enjoys larger-scale content projects.

Timing and budget

We expect to have approximately $10,000 AUD available for the freelance component of the project, depending on final scope, experience and agreed responsibilities.

There is flexibility around when the work is completed, provided we can establish a reliable workflow and meet the overall project deadlines.
