About the Role

About the role

We're a small Australian brand and website strategy business working with purpose-led service businesses. We're a friendly team who care about doing great work and looking after each other. We're looking for a reliable, switched-on VA to become a key part of how we run day to day.

This is an ongoing role supporting the founder across SEO, content, social media and general admin. You don't need to know how to do everything already, we'll train you properly with written steps and video walkthroughs, but you do need to be reliable, communicative and someone who takes real ownership of their work. If you have SEO or Canva experience, even better.

As you read through the tasks below, note that one of the application questions will ask which single task you'd most enjoy owning, and why. So read carefully.

What you'll be doing

Content and blog

Uploading and formatting blogs on the website
Updating existing blog content and checking everything displays correctly
Loading content into email marketing (MailerLite)

SEO

General on-page SEO tasks (training provided)
Optimising and compressing images
Adding alt text, meta titles and meta descriptions
Checking for broken links and basic internal linking
Posting and updating Google Business Profile

Social media

Scheduling and uploading posts across platforms
Filling out and adjusting social templates in Canva
Instagram engagement, responding to comments and DMs and engaging with relevant accounts
Posting to the founder's LinkedIn profile
Light repurposing of existing content

Admin and file management

Cleaning up and organising client files and Google Drive
Keeping file naming and folders tidy and consistent
General admin and data entry
Helping keep projects on track and flagging anything running behind

Project coordination

Keeping on top of assigned tasks in ClickUp
Monitoring timelines and making sure things stay on schedule

Who we're looking for (this bit matters most)

Takes ownership. You treat your role as your own. You don't need to be chased or managed closely, you see what needs doing and you get it done.
Reliable and consistent. You show up, every scheduled day, without being reminded.
A strong communicator. You check in when you start, you ask questions the same day a task is assigned, and you send a short end-of-day report on what you did.
Proactive. You check ClickUp for your tasks rather than waiting to be handed work, and you follow up instead of going quiet.
Detail-oriented. You read instructions fully and follow them.
Good written English.
Able to work independently from written and video SOPs.
Stable internet with a backup option, and your own computer.
In this for the long term, not a short stopgap.

Nice to have

Experience with SEO, Webflow, Canva, or Google Business Profile
Experience managing social media engagement
Experience supporting a marketing or creative business

The details

Casual, ongoing, paid hourly at $[rate] via Wise
20 to 30 hours per week, with potential for more, flexible on when you work
You must be available during our overlap window of 7am to 2pm your time (9am to 4pm AEST) for questions and check-ins
Start with a short paid trial so we can both see if it's a good fit

How to apply

All applications go through the form below, please don't send anything separately, and please keep all contact on this platform.

Two things before you start. So I know you've read the whole ad, the form asks for a password: the answer is the word "sunlight". And you'll need to record a short video introduction, 60 to 90 seconds, telling me about yourself and why this role suits you, then paste the link into the form. Applications without both won't be considered.
