About the Role

I'm hiring a second full-stack developer for my US-based multi-brand business. I already have one developer building applications from complete specs — this is a different role, and it requires a different kind of person. This time I do NOT have every detail d ---------- . Part of your job is helping me d ---------- .

What you'll build:

1. AI AUTOMATION (Claude Code skills, agents, and integrations). I run a small business with multiple brands, each with its own website, ad accounts, and marketing stack. I want recurring work automated using Claude Code: scheduled agents that connect to third-party tools via API (SEO platforms, Google Search Console, GA4, email ), do real work weekly or daily, and surface changes for my one-click approval. Examples include an SEO content-and-technical-fixes workflow across multiple sites, and email triage/auto-response for specific inbox types. You'll get the goals from me; you'll propose the architecture — what should be a Claude skill, what should be an MCP connector, what should be a plain script — and you'll defend those choices.

2. THE HARD PART: verification. Anyone can prompt Claude into producing something that LOOKS finished. I've seen plenty of AI output that claims to be great and is actually trash. Your value is building automations with tests, evals, and checkpoints that PROVE they work — correct data pulled, correct pages changed, no duplicate content, no broken sites, no email s sent to the wrong people. If you can't explain how you'd verify an agent's output without trusting the agent's own summary, don't apply.

3. WORDPRESS ? NEXT.JS MIGRATIONS. I'm moving several WordPress brand sites to Next.js on Vercel. This means rebuilding sites faithfully (design, content, forms, tracking), preserving SEO (301 redirects, metadata, structured data, sitemaps), and setting them up so future edits can be made through Claude Code — no page builders, no plugins, no WordPress.

4. Depending on fit, you may also work on existing application projects (a client gallery/print store, an internal CRM) — possibly alongside my other developer. Same stack: TypeScript, Next.js, Supabase, Vercel, Stripe.

The end goal: everything built cleanly enough that I can maintain and update all of it myself using Claude Code. You are building systems, then making yourself less necessary for day-to-day changes. If that bothers you, this isn't your job — the runway is long anyway, because I have more brands and more automation ideas than one person can build.

How we work:

  • AI-assisted development is expected. You'll use Claude Code (I provide the plan/subscription). I care that you direct it well, review its output critically, and catch its mistakes — not that you type every line.
  • Third-party integrations must stay within each platform's terms of service. If something I ask for would violate an API's rules, I expect you to tell me and propose a compliant alternative.
  • All infrastructure stays under my accounts (GitHub, Vercel, Supabase, API keys). You're added as a collaborator. Non-negotiable.
  • Milestone-based delivery with clear acceptance criteria. I review fast, I respond fast, I pay on time.
  • Starts with a small paid trial task so we both see if it's a fit.

Requirements:

  • You have actually built agentic AI workflows before — Claude Code skills/subagents, MCP servers or connectors, scheduled LLM pipelines, or similar. Not "I use ChatGPT a lot." Built, shipped, running.
  • Strong TypeScript + Next.js; at least one production app shipped
  • Comfortable integrating third-party APIs from documentation (OAuth, webhooks, rate limits)
  • WordPress-to-modern-stack migration experience is a strong plus, especially SEO preservation
  • You can scope ambiguous requests: ask the right questions, propose a plan, break it into milestones
  • Writes tests and evals; can explain how you verify automated output, not just that "it ran"
  • Reliable communication in English, available for async work with occasional overlap to European hours

Rate: $8/hr to start.

HOW TO APPLY (read carefully — applications ignoring this are deleted):
Start your application with the word SEXTANT. Then answer, in your own words:
1. Describe one AI agent, Claude skill, or LLM automation you built that ran repeatedly in production. What did it do, and how did you VERIFY its output was correct — beyond reading the AI's own summary?
2. You're asked to automate weekly SEO content publishing across multiple sites. Name three ways this could silently go wrong, and how you'd design the system to catch each one before damage is done.
3. Link to one production project you built (live URL or repo) and state exactly which parts were yours.
