About the role

Peak Media World is building a long-term digital knowledge and e-commerce platform with digital products, content, multiple sales channels and a future Partner/Affiliate Network.

We are looking for a technically strong Backend & Affiliate Systems Specialist who can help us build the more advanced backend and custom-development components of the system.

You will not be responsible for building the entire website alone.

The website foundation, CRM, automation, workflows and platform integrations are being handled internally. Your role is to focus on the areas that require deeper backend development, custom logic and specialist technical expertise.

You will work closely with the person responsible for our systems, automation and integrations so that your development connects cleanly with the overall PMW architecture.

What we are building

The long-term PMW system needs to connect:

  • the website
  • digital products and e-commerce
  • Gumroad and potentially other sales channels
  • customer data and CRM
  • payment systems
  • automation and workflows
  • content channels
  • partner/referral tracking
  • commissions
  • partner accounts and dashboards
  • future automated processes

Our goal is to build the foundation correctly from the beginning so that the system can grow without requiring a complete rebuild later.

Your main area of responsibility

You would focus particularly on the more advanced Partner/Affiliate and backend requirements, including:

  • backend architecture and custom development
  • database design and data structures
  • API development and integration
  • affiliate/referral tracking
  • partner IDs and referral links
  • source and conversion tracking
  • custom attribution logic
  • commission calculation systems
  • transaction and commission history
  • refund and cancellation handling
  • authentication and permissions
  • secure access to customer and partner data
  • security and fraud prevention
  • scalable backend architecture
  • future automated payout functionality

Partner / Affiliate system

The Partner Network is not intended to be a simple “last click wins” affiliate system.

The planned system includes:

  • individual Partner IDs
  • product-specific partner links
  • referral and source tracking
  • customer/partner attribution
  • a 90-day attribution period
  • potentially multiple active partner attributions for the same customer
  • commission calculation based on the actual amount paid by the customer
  • refund and cancellation handling
  • partner performance information
  • restricted partner access
  • future partner dashboards
  • future automated payouts

The standard commission for qualifying digital products is currently planned at 30%, with individually negotiated exceptions possible.

The system therefore needs to be flexible enough to support more complex commission and attribution rules in the future.

Security and fraud prevention

Because the system will involve customer data, partner information and financial commissions, we need someone who understands:

  • authentication
  • authorization and permissions
  • secure API communication
  • data protection
  • fraud prevention
  • self-referral prevention
  • artificial or suspicious sales
  • audit trails and transaction history
  • secure handling of sensitive information

Integrations

The system will need to communicate with external platforms and services.

Experience with technologies such as:

  • REST APIs
  • webhooks
  • authentication
  • database systems
  • payment APIs
  • automation platforms
  • SaaS integrations

is highly desirable.

Experience with platforms such as GoHighLevel, n8n, Gumroad, Stripe or similar systems is a plus, but strong technical understanding is more important than experience with one specific platform.

What we are looking for

You should have demonstrated experience with several of the following:

  • Backend development
  • Database architecture
  • API development
  • Affiliate/referral systems
  • Attribution systems
  • Commission systems
  • Payment or payout systems
  • Authentication and permissions
  • Security
  • Fraud prevention
  • SaaS integrations
  • Scalable system architecture

We are particularly interested in people who can think about the architecture before writing the code and who understand how different systems and data flows need to work together.

Important

This is not primarily a website-design position.

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building reliable backend systems.

We also do not expect you to build everything alone. You will work as part of a small team with clearly separated responsibilities.

The initial engagement may be part-time or project-based and can grow over time as Peak Media World develops.

To apply

Please tell us:

1. What relevant backend or systems you have built.
2. Whether you have experience with affiliate/referral systems.
3. Whether you have worked with attribution or commission logic.
4. Which databases, programming languages and backend technologies you use.
5. Which APIs and payment systems you have integrated.
6. Whether you have experience with security or fraud prevention.
7. Please provide examples, portfolio links, GitHub or other relevant work where possible.
8. Your expected hourly rate.
9. Your current availability and how many hours per week you could initially provide.

Please include the word `ARCHITECT` somewhere in your application so we know you have read the complete job description.
