Wedding Video Editor — Long-Term Remote Position

Rock Penguin Media is looking for a skilled and reliable wedding video editor to join our team long-term.

This is NOT a beginner position.

We are looking for an editor who understands cinematic wedding storytelling, pacing, music, audio, color grading, and how to create an emotional film that keeps the viewer engaged from beginning to end.

You must be comfortable creating 6–12 minute wedding highlight films without losing the story, pacing, or viewer's attention.

The Position

This is a remote, long-term role with consistent work for the right editor who communicates well.

Most projects will be weddings, but projects may also include engagement and proposals.

Each standard project will typically include:

• 1 trailer
• 1 highlight film
• 3 social media reels
• 1 ceremony edit (often, but not every wedding)

Highlight Wedding films will generally range from 6–12 minutes, depending on the wedding and project.

Some projects may also include:

• Reception edits
• Speech/toast edits
• Other documentary-style edits

Editing Style & Experience

We want someone who understands how to tell the full story of a wedding day, rather than simply placing pretty clips over music.

Because we work with multiple filmmakers and associates, footage will come from different shooters, camera systems, shooting styles, and experience levels.

We are looking for an editor who can recognize the strongest footage available, work creatively around imperfections when necessary, and maintain consistent storytelling, color, pacing, and overall quality across projects.

You should be comfortable with:

• Multi-camera wedding footage
• Footage from multiple shooters and varying experience levels
• Different cameras, picture profiles, and shooting styles
• Syncing external audio
• Using vows and speeches to build a story
• Music selection and pacing
• Natural audio and sound design
• Color correction and grading
• Matching footage between different cameras
• Working creatively around imperfect footage when necessary
• Creating seamless transitions
• Working with drone footage
• Creating both cinematic and documentary edits
• Selecting the strongest footage from a large amount of raw footage
• Creating short-form social media edits from the same wedding
• Maintaining a consistent final product regardless of who filmed the project

DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro are our preferred editing software.

Experience editing Arab, Persian, Indian, Pakistani, South Asian, or other multicultural weddings is a major bonus.

Compensation

$700 USD per month for 4 completed projects, paid on the 15th of each month.

Standard projects include the teaser, highlight film, 3 reels, and ceremony edit when applicable.

Documentary Edit Pay

Projects requiring additional documentary edits will receive an additional $85 USD per qualifying project on top of your monthly compensation.

For example, if one of your four projects that month includes a qualifying documentary edit, your compensation for that month would be $785 USD.

Compensation includes reasonable revisions necessary to complete each standard project.

Internet Speed Test
