Travel Research Virtual Assistant

Intro
We are looking for a Virtual Assistant to help with manual research for travel articles about Asia. We are building travel guide websites on both a .dk and a .com domain, and we need help preparing structured research for new articles.

The position is project-based for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Main role
Your main task will be to research travel topics for articles about Asia. The current focus is Thailand, Vietnam and other parts of Southeast Asia, but later the websites may also cover destinations such as Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Japan.

This is mainly a research role. We are looking for someone who is very good at finding reliable information, enjoys details and can work in a structured way.

Main responsibilities
x Research travel topics for new articles
x Find reliable sources, preferably official websites when possible
x Collect useful travel information such as location, transport, opening hours, prices, highlights and practical tips
x Compare information from different sources when needed
x Prepare clear research notes in Google Docs
x Add relevant source links
x Work with our content spreadsheet in Google Sheets
x Use ChatGPT Business or similar tools to help structure research notes
x Support our content and publishing team with small ad hoc tasks when needed

Most article research tasks will typically take around 30 minutes to 1 hour. More detailed topics may take up to 2 hours.
The most important thing is that the research is useful, accurate and well structured.

Requirements
x Strong online research skills
x Good written English
x Very good attention to detail
x Ability to find and evaluate reliable sources
x Comfortable using Google Docs and Google Sheets
x Comfortable working with ChatGPT Business or similar tools
x Ability to work independently from home with minimal supervision
x Reliable and able to meet deadlines
x Good communication skills
x Open to sharing ideas and suggesting improvements
x Interest in travel is a strong advantage
x Basic SEO knowledge is a plus, but not required
x WordPress experience is a plus, but not required

Work setup
x 15 hours per week
x Working hours distributed Monday-Friday. Some overlap with Danish business hours is preferred for communication, but the role is otherwise flexible.

We are a small Danish travel agency established in 2010. We specialize in tailor-made travel to Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Japan. We arrange travel for both individuals and groups.

We have a flat organizational structure and value people who can work independently, communicate clearly and suggest improvements when they see better ways to do things.
