Video Editor
Confidential employer
About Us:
We're a marketing and media production agency based in Melbourne, Australia. We shoot professionally and produce high-quality short-form social media content, and we operate as much as a media production house as we do a marketing agency. We handle both organic social content and paid Meta ad video production, and we place a strong emphasis on premium, high-quality production value across everything we put out.
The Role:
We're looking for a skilled Video Editor to join our team full-time, primarily editing short-form social media content. Long-form video comes up occasionally, so being capable of it is a bonus (not a requirement), but the bulk of the work will be short-form. You'll be working across a wide range of styles — from cinematic, commercial-style short films (think a highly polished 60-second cinematic piece) to simple, natural social content that isn't overly edited or "salesy." You'll also need to understand the difference between organic content and paid Meta ad video, since the editing approach for each is different.
You'll be coordinating closely with our team/assistant, so clear communication and the ability to follow instructions precisely are essential.
What You'll Do:
--Edit short-form social media videos (Reels, TikTok, etc.) — the majority of the workload
--Occasionally edit long-form video content (nice to have, not a core requirement)
--Edit cinematic-style short films/commercials as well as simple, natural, non-overedited social content and know when to use which style
--Understand and apply the differences between organic content editing and paid Meta ad video editing
--Stitch together footage from multiple takes/angles into one cohesive final video
--Build dynamic captions in DaVinci Resolve
--Apply solid sound design to every edit
--Create simple motion graphics/animations in After Effects when needed (not overly complex — clean, simple animation)
--Communicate proactively and coordinate closely with our team or assistant
--Follow instructions clearly and manage your time effectively to hit deadlines
--Handle a high volume of video work consistently
What We're Looking For (in order of importance)
--Color grading — this is the #1 skill we're hiring for. You must be genuinely strong at color grading.
--Pacing, storytelling, and narrative sense. Understanding how to structure a video for maximum engagement and impact is a major factor.
--Versatility in editing style. Able to switch between cinematic, story-driven commercial edits and simple, understated social content.
--Advanced DaVinci Resolve skills, particularly building dynamic captions. (Premiere Pro experience is not what we're looking for — this role is Resolve-based.)
--Strong understanding of sound design.
--Basic to intermediate After Effects skills for simple animations.
--Excellent communication — responsive, clear, and proactive.
--Strong time management — efficient, doesn't waste time, hits deadlines.
--Comfortable with high-volume work.
--A portfolio is required — we need to review your reel/work samples before any interview is scheduled.
--Must be willing to complete a trial video to demonstrate your quality of work before being brought on.
What We Offer:
AUD $1,400/month, full-time
Performance-based bonus opportunities
Long-term growth potential within the agency as we scale
