We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. You'll be the backbone of our financial integrity, managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance for a growing organization that runs 70+ transformational events annually and serves 35+ team members. This is a strategic role where you'll own our books, ensure accuracy across all financial systems, and provide insights that drive business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Financial Management & Reporting*
- Own all accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Maintain QuickBooks Online as the primary accounting system; ensure data integrity and proper categorization
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts monthly with zero tolerance for discrepancies
- Manage accounts payable and receivable aging, collections, and vendor relationships
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards for leadership review and strategic decision-making
*Compliance & Controls*
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Maintain internal controls and audit trails; implement best practices to prevent fraud and errors
- Prepare and file tax documents and support tax planning with external CPAs
- Manage payroll processing via Gusto; ensure accurate and timely employee payments and tax withholdings
- Track and reconcile corporate credit card expenses (Ramp); enforce expense policy compliance
*Systems & Process Optimization*
- Manage integrations between QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Ramp, and other financial tools
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline accounting workflows
- Document and maintain SOPs for all financial processes to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer
- Recommend and implement accounting software upgrades or new tools as the company scales
*Strategic Support*
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support business planning and budgeting
- Identify trends, variances, and risks in financial data; flag issues early to leadership
- Support the Operations Manager and leadership team with financial insights for decision-making
- Participate in quarterly and annual planning cycles
- Lead weekly meetings with the Accounting team members to provide direction
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
*Education & Experience*
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, with at least 1–2 years in a controller or senior accounting role
- Proven experience managing full accounting cycles for small to mid-sized organizations (10–50 employees)
*Technical Skills – Non-Negotiable*
- U.S. GAAP Proficiency: Deep understanding of U.S. accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
- QuickBooks Online: Direct, hands-on proficiency; ability to set up, manage, and troubleshoot the system
- Excel: Advanced skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)

- English Fluency: High-level spoken and written English is mandatory. You'll communicate regularly with U.S.-based leadership, attend meetings, and prepare reports in English.
