Job Summary

The Senior Accountant works independently to complete standard accounting and tax engagements with minimal supervision, while also providing support to other tea ---------- mbers. The candidate manages their own workload; self-reviews output for quality and communicates proactively with the onshore team.

The Role

We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong grasp of Australian taxation to join our team.

If you know Australian tax inside out and take pride in accuracy, this role was made for you.

Roles and Responsibilities

Independently process electronic data and journal entries across all client sizes; prepare complete working papers and reconciliations with no guidance required.
Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS, FBT, and tax planning
Review returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
Ensure all client work is accurate, compliant, and meets Australian tax law requirements
Respond to client queries via email or client portal under production manager oversight. Draft responses for production manager review on more complex matters.
Manage ATO client correspondence and queries
Attend to routine corporate secretarial requirements independently, including review of ASIC notifications, minutes, and resolutions.
Conduct tax research, stay updated on legislation, and anticipate changes
Prepare tax planning schedules and supporting analysis for manager/partner review

You have

At least 4 years of experience in Australian public practice accounting, with a focus on tax and financial statement preparation.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Solid interest in building efficiencies and not conforming to the status quo
Good communication skills - verbal and written – being confident to ask questions

Systems & Technology (desirable, but not essential)
