About the Role

This role will initially require approximately 10 hours per month.

We are an Australian marketing agency looking for an experienced Google Ads Specialist to manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns for our clients.

We currently have a small number of accounts, so this role will start part-time/freelance, with the opportunity to grow as we bring more clients on board.

What You’ll Be Working On

Our current clients are primarily local service businesses, including:

Beauty / aesthetic clinic
Tattoo studio
Other Australian service-based businesses as we grow

The main objective is simple: generate high-quality leads and bookings profitably — not just clicks and traffic.

Your Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the full Google Ads management process, including:

Reviewing and auditing existing Google Ads accounts
Building and restructuring campaigns when required
Google Search campaign setup and management
Keyword research and search intent analysis
Match type strategy
Negative keyword management
Writing and testing ad copy
Conversion tracking setup and troubleshooting
GA4 and Google Tag Manager knowledge
Budget and bid management
Search Terms analysis
Ongoing campaign optimisation
Improving CPL / CPA and lead quality
Identifying wasted ad spend
Landing page recommendations when conversion issues are identified
Monthly performance reporting with clear insights and recommended actions

You should be comfortable taking ownership of an account rather than waiting for instructions on every optimisation.

What We’re Looking For

You MUST have hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns for real businesses.

Ideally, you have experience with:

Local service businesses
Lead generation campaigns
Beauty, aesthetic, wellness or similar businesses
Australian, UK, US or other English-speaking markets

We are looking for someone who understands that good Google Ads management is not simply about increasing clicks.

You should be able to look at an account and answer:

What is working?
What is wasting money?
Why are we getting or not getting leads?
What should we change next?

Technical Skills

You should be confident with:

Google Ads
Google Keyword Planner
Google Analytics 4
Google Tag Manager
Conversion tracking
Google Ads Editor
Search Terms reports
Keyword and competitor research

Experience with landing page optimisation and CRM tracking is a strong advantage.

Important

We are NOT looking for someone who:

Simply launches campaigns and checks them once a month
Focuses on vanity metrics
Uses the same campaign structure for every client
Cannot explain why they made a particular optimisation
Relies entirely on automated Google recommendations

We want someone who actively thinks about business results and lead quality.

Hours & Working Arrangement

This role will initially be part-time/freelance.

We currently have a small number of Google Ads accounts, so we are happy to discuss a monthly retainer or hourly arrangement.

As our client portfolio grows, there will be an opportunity for more accounts, hours and responsibility.

Remote position.

Philippines-based candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Please start your application with the words:

“I READ THE FULL JOB POST”

Then answer the following questions:

How many years have you been managing Google Ads?
Approximately how many Google Ads accounts do you currently manage?
What types of businesses have you worked with?
Have you managed lead-generation campaigns for local service businesses?
Have you managed campaigns targeting Australia?
What monthly ad budgets have you managed?
Tell me about one Google Ads account you significantly improved. What was the problem, what did you change, and what happened?
How do you determine whether poor campaign performance is caused by Google Ads, the landing page, tracking, or the sales process?
How often do you normally review Search Terms and add negative keywords?
What would you check first if a campaign suddenly stopped generating leads?
Please provide screenshots or examples of previous Google Ads results where possible. You may hide client names and confidential information.
What is your expected hourly rate or monthly rate for managing 2 small-to-medium Google Ads accounts?

Please do not send a generic application. We are specifically looking for someone who can analyse, optimise and take ownership of performance.
