About the Role

I'm a small, established brand in the ecommerce/paid advertising education space. I publish long-form video (YouTube, educational, talking-head) and I'm looking for an editor to own that pipeline end to end: turning raw recordings into polished, well-paced videos that hold attention.

This is a long-term, ongoing relationship, not a one-off gig. Reliable editors who nail my style get steady work, more hours over time, etc.

What you'll edit

  • Full long-form videos ([8–25] min) with tight cuts, remove filler/dead air, clean pacing that holds retention
  • B-roll, cutaways, and screen-share woven in to support the story
  • Captions/subtitles, lower-thirds, and simple on-screen text in our brand style
  • Intro/outro, chapter markers, and light color + audio cleanup (levels, noise, music)
  • Occasional short vertical clips pulled from the long-form video (a plus, not the main job)
  • Occasional thumbnails or simple graphics (a bonus)

You're a strong fit if you:

1. Have a reel/portfolio of long-form edits I can watch (YouTube-style, not just short clips)
2. Have real taste for pacing and retention (you know how to keep a 15-minute video moving)
4. Can match an existing brand style rather than imposing your own (I'll give you a style guide and examples)
5. Are reliable with deadlines and communicate proactively about timelines
6. Turn around revisions quickly and take feedback well

Tools

  • Confident in Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve for long-form editing
  • Comfortable with captions/subtitles workflows
  • After Effects / motion graphics is a bonus (mention it if you have it)
  • Comfortable receiving large raw files via Google Drive / Dropbox / ----------

Requirements
1. Editing computer that can handle 1080p/4K footage
2. Reliable internet with solid upload speed (you'll need to be able to move large files)
3. ~15–20 hrs/week availability, ongoing, long-term
4. A reel or portfolio link with long-form work (required)

How to apply (read carefully)

Start your message with the word [RETENTION] so I know you read this fully. Applications without it won't be reviewed.

Link your reel/portfolio, ideally with at least one full long-form edit I can watch start to finish (a YouTube link is perfect).

Pick ONE long-form edit in your portfolio and tell me, in 2–3 sentences, how you kept it paced and where you'd have cut more (I want your thinking, not just the result).

List the editing software you use and whether you know After Effects.

Tell me your hourly rate (or per-video rate) and your typical turnaround for one [15]-minute long-form edit.

Note your internet upload speed.

I watch every reel from applicants who follow these steps and reply quickly to strong ones. Excited to see your work!
