Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized, experienced YouTube Channel Growth & Management Specialist to help manage and grow an established YouTube channel focused on retirement income, financial education, and retirement planning for Americans primarily age 55–75.
This is NOT simply a video-uploading position.
We are looking for someone who understands how YouTube works and can help improve:
- Click-through rate (CTR)
- Views
- Watch time
- Audience retention
- Subscribers
- Titles
- Thumbnails
- Video topics
- Shorts
- Channel organization
- Overall channel growth
The right person will be able to look at YouTube Analytics and explain why a video performed well or poorly and what should be changed.
This is intended to become a long-term position for the right person.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. YouTube Publishing & Channel Management
You will:
- Upload and schedule YouTube videos
- Create and format video descriptions
- Add chapters/timestamps
- Add end screens
- Add cards when appropriate
- Add videos to playlists
- Add subtitles/captions when necessary
- Upload approved thumbnails
- Schedule videos for publication
- Check videos after publication for errors
- Organize playlists and channel content
- Review and help manage comments
- Create or schedule Community posts

2. Titles & Thumbnails
You will help develop:
- High-performing YouTube titles
- Thumbnail concepts
- Thumbnail text
- Alternative title ideas
- A/B testing ideas when appropriate
You must understand the difference between:
Creating curiosity
and
Using misleading clickbait.
Our audience values professionalism, authority, credibility, and trust.

3. YouTube Analytics
You should understand and regularly monitor:
- Impressions
- Click-through rate
- Views
- Watch time
- Average view duration
- Audience retention
- Subscriber growth
- Traffic sources
- Returning viewers
- New viewers
- Top-performing videos
- Underperforming videos
You should be able to provide recommendations based on these numbers—not simply report the numbers.

4. YouTube Shorts
You will review long-form videos and identify content that could become YouTube Shorts.
Responsibilities may include:
- Identifying strong Short clips
- Suggesting hooks
- Writing Short titles
- Writing captions
- Creating or coordinating Shorts
- Scheduling Shorts
- Tracking which Shorts generate the most engagement
Experience using tools such as CapCut, Descript, OpusClip, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar software is helpful.

5. Content Research
You will help identify:
- Video topics our audience is interested in
- Questions retirees are asking
- Competitor videos performing well
- Potential title ideas
- Thumbnail trends
- Content gaps
- Topics that could become future long-form videos
You should NOT simply copy competitors.
Your job is to identify patterns and opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can eventually say:
“This video is getting impressions but the CTR is too low. I believe the title and thumbnail are the problem. Here are three changes I recommend.”
OR:
“The CTR is strong, but viewers are leaving during the first 60 seconds. We should improve the opening hook.”
That is the level of YouTube understanding we are looking for.
