About the Role

About us

We are deKor, a family-run home furnishings and decor brand in Los Angeles ( ---------- ). We sell furniture, lighting, rugs, ceramics, and decor with a warm, elevated, Scandinavian-Californian aesthetic. We are scaling our online business and need a specialist who can make our products look beautiful, realistic, and premium — and produce that imagery at volume for our website and ads.

This is a specialist role, not a general graphic-design role. We are not looking for someone to make social media graphics, logos, or Canva templates. We are looking for someone who can take a plain, real photo of a product and turn it into a hyperrealistic, professional lifestyle image — without changing the product itself.

The standard we are aiming for

Your work must reach the level and style of Nickey Kehoe ( ---------- ) and ---------- . Please study their site before applying. Their imagery is our visual benchmark, and it is defined by:

Photographic realism — every image looks like it was shot by a professional interior photographer with a real camera, not generated or rendered. This is the bar.
Warm, natural light — soft daylight, gentle shadows, no harsh or artificial lighting.
An elevated, collected, lived-in feel — rooms that look designed and real, with tasteful styling, not sterile studio shots and not cluttered.
A muted, earthy, sophisticated palette — natural materials (wood, linen, ceramic, stone), quiet colors, nothing loud or oversaturated.
Restraint and quality — the styling signals "premium" through space, light, and composition, not through effects or gimmicks.

If you can produce images that would look at home on the Nickey Kehoe and LuLu & Georgia website, you are the person we want. If your work looks like typical AI output — too glossy, too perfect, slightly unreal — you are not a fit for this role.

What you will do

Take our real product photos (often plain, on white backgrounds, sometimes low quality) and transform them into hyperrealistic lifestyle images at the Nickey Kehoe standard described above
Place products into realistic, on-brand room scenes — a sofa in a styled living room, a lamp on a real side table — while keeping the product's exact shape, proportions, materials, color, and details perfectly intact
Upscale, restore, and enhance low-resolution product images to clean, high-resolution results
Replace plain backgrounds with realistic, premium environments that improve presentation without altering the product
Produce hero banners and ad creative (static and short video) from product imagery
Maintain a consistent visual style so everything looks like one cohesive deK?r brand
Deliver a high volume of images reliably and on deadline, working from briefs

Required skills and qualifications

Proven, hands-on experience generating hyperrealistic commercial product images with AI tools (for example: Nano Banana / Google Gemini, Midjourney, ChatGPT/DALL·E, Flux, Stable Diffusion, Magnific, Krea, or similar). You must be able to name the specific tools you use and for what.
Demonstrated ability to preserve a real product's exact identity when placing it into a new scene — this is the single most important skill. We sell furniture, and customers notice when proportions, materials, or colors are even slightly wrong.
The ability to achieve photographic realism, not glossy "AI look" — matching the natural, warm, editorial style of our Nickey Kehoe benchmark.
Strong AI image upscaling and restoration skills for low-resolution product photos.
Solid Photoshop (or equivalent) skills for retouching, compositing, and correcting AI output — AI alone is not enough; you must be able to fix edges, reflections, shadows, lighting, and artifacts.
A refined eye for interior/home aesthetics — lighting, composition, styling, and realism.
Fast, high-volume output and the ability to follow brand direction and hit deadlines.
Reliable computer, stable internet, and clear written English.

Nice to have

Experience creating product imagery specifically for furniture, home decor, or interiors
Basic video creation for Reels / TikTok / Pinterest
Experience creating ad creative that has actually run on Meta or Pinterest

HOW TO APPLY — READ CAREFULLY. Applications that skip these steps will be ignored.

Start your reply with the word HEARTH so we know you read the full posting.
This is the most important part — send us actual before-and-after samples. We want to see, side by side:
the original, plain product photo you started with, and
the final hyperrealistic AI-generated image you produced from it.
Send at least three before/after pairs. At least one should show a product (furniture, an appliance, or a similar physical item) placed into a realistic room or lifestyle scene, where we can clearly see the product was kept accurate. Include a link to your portfolio or a Google Drive/Dropbox folder with these pairs.
For one of your before/after examples, briefly explain your process: which AI tool(s) you used, how you kept the product looking exactly like the original, and how you fixed any AI mistakes afterward.
Look at the Nickey Kehoe and Lulu & Georgia website and tell us, in a sentence or two, what makes their product photography look premium — and how you would recreate that style for our products. Pick one furniture item from ---------- and create a sample.
Tell us: once you know our brand, roughly how many finished, polished product images could you produce in one week?

We're looking for someone talented to grow with us long-term. If your before/after samples are strong and you followed the steps above, you'll hear back quickly.
