About the Role

We're a video distribution agency working with US stand-up comedians. We produce short-form clips for Facebook , Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. We need someone to review every clip before it goes out and catch mistakes.

This is not a creative role. You are not editing. You are checking work against a fixed checklist and reporting what's wrong.

What you'll do:

  • Review 120–200 short videos per week against a written QC checklist
  • Catch caption spelling and grammar errors, timing issues, text placement problems, audio cuts, and formatting mistakes
  • Report every issue in a fixed format with timestamps
  • Flag nothing that isn't actually wrong

What we need:

  • Near-native written English. You must be able to spot a misspelling, a wrong homophone, and a grammar error without a spellchecker.
  • Extreme attention to detail. The mistakes you're looking for are often one character.
  • Reliability. This runs on a weekly cycle and it can't slip.
  • Ability to follow a checklist exactly rather than using your own judgment.

Hours and pay:

  • Approximately 5-10 hours per week to start
  • $10/hour
  • Rate increases based on accuracy after the trial period
  • Long-term position: we are hiring someone to own this, not for a one-off project
  • More hours are likely available as we grow, including other work outside QC.

Hiring process:
1. Application
2. Unpaid 30-minute QC test, 20 short videos, some with errors, some without. Same test for everyone
3. 15-minute video call
4. Paid 2-week trial at full rate
5. Permanent hire, with salary increase after

To apply: Start your message with the word ACCURACY. Then answer these three questions:

  • What's the difference between "their," "there," and "they're"? Answer in one sentence.
  • Find the error in this sentence: "The comedian's set was hilarious, he had the whole crowd in tears by the end of it's first ten minutes."
  • Describe a time you caught a mistake that everyone else missed.

Applications with spelling or grammar errors will not be considered. Applications that don't start with ACCURACY will not be read.
