Learning Coach / Academic Officer
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote
Work Schedule: 40 Hours per Week
Time Zone: Toronto Business Hours (Eastern Time)
Compensation: $4.00 per hour

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, professional, and student-focused Learning Coach / Academic Officer to support students throughout their academic journey. This role involves delivering online instruction, facilitating workshops, providing academic support, monitoring student progress, and ensuring a positive learning experience.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, experience delivering online learning, and a passion for helping students achieve their educational goals. Successful applicants will be comfortable conducting live virtual classes, providing one-on-one coaching, and supporting students through various academic and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities
Student Support & Academic Coaching

  • Provide academic guidance and support to students throughout their program.
  • Monitor student progress and identify learners who may require additional assistance.
  • Maintain regular communication with students to encourage engagement and academic success.
  • Support students with course navigation, learning strategies, and study techniques.
  • Document student interactions and maintain accurate academic records.

Online Teaching & Facilitation

  • Deliver live online training sessions, workshops, tutorials, and coaching sessions.
  • Facilitate virtual classroom discussions and encourage student participation.
  • Teach both foundational and advanced Microsoft Office concepts.
  • Adapt instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Create an engaging and supportive online learning environment.

Microsoft Office Instruction

  • Provide instruction and support in:

? Microsoft Word
? Microsoft Excel
? Microsoft PowerPoint
? Microsoft Access
? Microsoft Outlook

  • Assist students with assignments, projects, and practical applications of Microsoft Office tools.

Learning Management & Administration

  • Utilize learning management systems and online learning platforms to support student success.
  • Monitor attendance, participation, and academic performance.
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate concerns or recommendations when necessary.
  • Assist with academic administration and student services as required.

Technology & Virtual Learning Support

  • Use virtual meeting and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and related learning technologies.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues students may encounter during virtual learning sessions.
  • Support the effective delivery of remote and online learning experiences.

Qualifications
Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of online teaching, coaching, training, or instructional experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Windows-based computer environment.
  • Experience facilitating online classes, webinars, workshops, or virtual learning sessions.
  • Experience working in a college, university, training institution, or educational environment is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:

? PowerPoint
? Access
? Outlook

  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technology platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and other virtual learning platforms.
  • Strong computer literacy and technical troubleshooting skills.

Communication & Professional Skills

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and support learner success.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.

Technical Requirements

  • Reliable computer or laptop.
  • Webcam, headset, microphone, and speakers.
  • Stable high-speed internet connection.
  • Quiet and professional workspace suitable for online teaching and coaching.

Schedule

  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • 7 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • One scheduled workday on the weekend may be required
  • Must be available to work during Toronto business hours (Eastern Time)

Compensation

  • $4.00 per hour
  • Full-Time Position (40 Hours per Week)

Interview Process
As part of our selection process, shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in a live Microsoft Teams interview with screen sharing.

Candidates may be asked to demonstrate:
