Growth & Outreach Virtual Assistant – Early-Stage Startup

About Chinwag

Chinwag is an early-stage Irish startup building a marketplace for paid one-to-one video conversations.

The idea is simple: people can create a profile around their knowledge, interests or lived experience and get paid for their time, while others can discover and book conversations with people they would value speaking to.

The MVP is live. We're now tackling the harder part: finding our first users, learning what resonates and building momentum.

The role

I'm looking for a smart, resourceful Growth & Outreach VA to work with me for approximately 5 hours per week.

This isn't primarily an administrative VA role. The focus will be helping generate genuine activity around an early-stage startup through research, outreach, community participation and content.

Typical work will include:

• Researching potential early users and prospective Hosts
• Identifying relevant online communities and conversations
• Helping with thoughtful outreach to potential users
• Engaging with relevant discussions across platforms such as X, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, Indie Hackers and Reddit
• Repurposing founder ideas into social posts and other content
• Researching potential partnerships and promotional opportunities
• Keeping a simple record of outreach, responses and results
• Suggesting experiments and new ways of reaching potential users

Who I'm looking for

You don't need years of startup experience. I'm much more interested in someone who:

• Has excellent written English
• Is curious and comfortable researching unfamiliar topics
• Can use AI tools effectively without producing generic AI content
• Understands social media and online communities
• Can exercise judgement rather than simply following instructions
• Is comfortable working independently
• Is willing to suggest better approaches when they see them

Chinwag is at a very early stage, so there will be experimentation. Some approaches will work and others won't. I'm looking for someone who finds that interesting rather than frustrating.

Hours & longer-term potential

The role will initially be approximately 5 hours per week. If we work well together and the activity begins producing results, there is scope for the hours and responsibilities to grow over time.

I'll provide detailed guidance on Chinwag's brand, objectives, target audiences and ways of working.
