About the Role

Walters Supply Co. runs a resale/consignment service (brand: Second Closet Co.) — people ship us unused clothing, we photograph, list, sell, and ship it, and they get paid. We're looking for a VA to run personalized outreach on Instagram, DMing people who could be a fit and pointing them toward our ---------- is NOT copy-paste spam. Each message should reference something real and specific from the account you're messaging (a post about decluttering, thrifting, moving, closet cleanouts, etc). We'll provide a message template and a bank of variants — your job is to personalize the one line that references their account, then rotate variants so it never looks automated.

Responsibilities:

Find relevant accounts (people posting about decluttering, thrifting, moving, downsizing, closet cleanouts, local swap/resale groups, etc.)
Send 20 personalized DMs per day using our template, customized per account
Rotate message variants — never send the same exact wording back to back
Direct interested people to our ---------- (sign-up link is in bio) — if they ask for the direct link, send: ----------
Track daily outreach in a shared spreadsheet: account messaged, date, message variant used, and whether you believe they clicked the link (based on their reply/engagement)
Flag any warm replies to us same-day

Requirements:

Strong written English, natural conversational tone
Experience with social outreach, community management, or lead gen preferred
Detail-oriented — able to find a real, specific detail on someone's profile to reference
Comfortable with a shared tracking sheet (Google Sheets)
Daily availability for the 20 DMs

Pay Structure:

$0.20 per DM recipient you believe clicked the link (based on reply behavior, follow-back, or other signal — tracked by you in the sheet, reviewed by us)
Cap of 20 DMs/day per VA
Trial period: first week reviewed for message quality and tracking accuracy before rate is confirmed

How to Apply:
Send 2-3 examples of outreach or community messages you've written before (any platform), and answer: "How would you personalize a DM to someone who just posted a photo of a closet cleanout?"

VA Training Doc: Message Template + Variant Bank

How this works: Pick ONE opener below, fill in the [bracket] with something real and specific from their account (not generic — actually look at their page), and send. Rotate which variant you use so it's never identical twice in a row. Never lead with the account name or link in the first message — only give it if they engage and ask, or after they reply positively.

Variant 1 — Curiosity, low commitment
"hey! saw your post about [specific thing — moving/decluttering/selling clothes] — do you usually sell/thrift stuff or was that a one-off?"

Variant 2 — Compliment + curiosity
"hey, love your [closet/style/thrift finds] — random q, do you ever sell stuff you don't wear anymore or just donate it?"

Variant 3 — Direct but casual
"hey! noticed [specific detail] — quick question, have you ever tried consigning clothes instead of just donating/tossing them?"

Variant 4 — Shared interest angle
"hey, saw you're into [thrifting/resale/decluttering] — curious if you've ever looked into consignment vs just selling stuff yourself?"

If they reply and engage (any positive/curious response):
"nice! so I ---------- — it's a consignment thing, you just ship us stuff you don't want, we handle the listing/selling/shipping, and you get paid. link's in our bio if you want to check it out, no pressure"

If they ask for the link directly:
"here you go — ---------- "

Rules for VAs:

Never send the same exact message to two accounts in a row — rotate variants
Always personalize the bracketed part with something true, not filler
Don't ---------- or the link in the first message — let them ask or respond positively first
Log every DM: account, date, variant used, reply (Y/N), believed click (Y/N)
Stop at 20 DMs/day — don't exceed the cap even if it's going well, this protects the account long-term
