We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interior Design Drafter with extensive experience in custom residential projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys technical detailing, architectural coordination, and producing comprehensive drawing sets that bring exceptional homes to life.

Position Summary

The Senior Interior Design Drafter will be responsible for developing detailed construction documents and coordinating all interior architectural drawings for high-end custom residences. This role requires exceptional AutoCAD drafting skills, strong construction knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail.

The ideal candidate understands how luxury homes are built and can independently produce detailed drawing packages while collaborating with the design team, architects, consultants, and builders.

Responsibilities

• Produce complete construction drawing sets using AutoCAD.
• Develop highly detailed cabinetry and millwork drawings for kitchens, bathrooms, closets, bars, libraries, and custom built-ins.
• Prepare interior elevations for all areas of the residence.
• Create reflected ceiling plans with lighting layouts and architectural details.
• Coordinate decorative and architectural lighting locations.
• Prepare electrical and switching plans as required.
• Coordinate plumbing fixture layouts and installation requirements.
• Detail appliance locations and cabinetry integration.
• Prepare hardware placement drawings for cabinetry throughout the home.
• Coordinate interior architectural details with architects, structural engineers, lighting designers, and builders.
• Assist in space planning and design development.
• Review architectural plans and identify conflicts before construction.
• Revise drawings throughout the design and construction process.
• Ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
• Participate in project meetings with the design team, consultants, and contractors.
• Maintain organized project files and drawing documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design drafting.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods and detailing.
• Extensive experience producing cabinetry and millwork details.
• Experience creating:

• Interior elevations
• Cabinet details
• Reflected ceiling plans
• Lighting plans
• Plumbing plans
• Appliance layouts
• Hardware placement drawings
• Construction details
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and consultant drawings.
• Strong understanding of kitchen and bathroom design.
• Knowledge of residential building standards and construction sequencing.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on luxury custom homes
• Familiarity with Southern California residential construction.
• Experience coordinating directly with builders and architects.
• Knowledge of custom cabinetry fabrication and millwork construction.
• Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or rendering software is a plus.
