YouTube Thumbnail Designer — Full Time, High Volume (Podcast Clips Channel)

We run the clips channel for The Iced Coffee Hour, a finance and interview
podcast. We're hiring one full-time thumbnail designer to own thumbnails
completely.

Be clear-eyed about the volume before you read further: 90 clips a month,
3 thumbnail variants each. That's 270 files a month, roughly 4-5 clips and
12-15 files a day. This is not a side gig you fit around other clients. It
is a full-time job and it will fill your day.

WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY IS

Every clip we publish is already titled and edited before it reaches you.
Your job is one thing: the thumbnail that makes someone click.

For each clip you get a 4K video file and the finished title. You:

• Watch the clip and find your own frames. We do not send you stills.

Finding the right expression is most of the job.

• Build 3 variants for split testing. The 3 share the subject cutout but

differ in text, crop, colour and framing — enough that the test teaches
us something.

• Deliver 1280x720 JPGs plus layered PSDs, within 24 hours of the clip

landing in your queue.

WHAT WE NEED

• You have shipped YouTube thumbnails on real channels. Not spec work,

not mockups. Live videos we can go look at right now.

• Photoshop. Not Canva-only.
• You can sustain 12-15 files a day without quality dropping in week three.

Consistency matters more here than any single home run.

• Reliable 24-hour turnaround. This is half the job.
• Internet fast enough to download a 2.5GB file comfortably, and a machine

that can scrub 4K video.

• Backup plan for brownouts. We're not screening anyone out for where they

live, we just need to know your plan.

WHAT WE DON'T NEED

• Video editing. That's handled.
• Copywriting or titles. Also handled.
• Channel management, uploading, or scheduling.

You do thumbnails. That's the whole role, and we want it done by someone
who takes it seriously enough that we never think about it again.

PAY AND TERMS

$1,700 - $2,000/month depending on experience, for up to 90 clips.
Overage above that is paid at $15/clip.

Rate review at 90 days with a clear path to $2,200+ if you hit the bar.

No fixed PTO policy. The work is task-based - if it's done, take the time.
